Yeah, I got the full free version on the net somewhere... I think I looked at a youtube vid, downloaded it on a mediafire site link or something. (can't exactly remember) But that's what I did haha.
For my manga now, I have exactly a 1500x200o with a 300dpi and it goes on well~
Sounds like fun! :D You can download it for free somewhere, right?
I used to do my linearts in OC 1.1 and with the right settings, the lineart came out so cleannnnn *A* sadly, I haven't found a Mac download :c It took me a while to get use to doing my linearts in Photoshop. They come out blurry on low resolution. That's why I usually do my arts on massive file sizes so I can have the lineart I want. On serious drawings, I use 300 DPI xDDD soooo big. But it makes details and stuff much easier to do. For manga pages, I use 150 DPI because I'm making a lot of pages and 300 is too big @__@
it's been so long since I've seen the original anime. xD Apparently DBZ Kai took out all of the fillers and only put in the stuff that was in the manga. The original anime was like over 200 episodes, and that's not counting DB and DB GT or whatever the other series are called @__@ DBZKai is only 54 episodes~
I'm thinking about going back and watching Dragon Ball though. The whole DBZ world is really fascinating :D
I'd say SAI is really good for linearts~ It makes much more smoother lines than Photoshop when I experimented with it~ Photoshop made my lines see that I shake when I stroke @_@ haha! But you should try it when you have the time if you want. Thanks, and you're welcome too~!
page looks pretty sweet. OMG Piccolo! i used to love to watch that with my brother but now he says DBZ Kai goofed up on some things. But It is still awesome!
Oh is SAI good for lineart? I heard it was but I never went around to actually trying it out myself. XD
Haha I always did detailed sketches since I like to know exactly where I'm going to put everything~ but with my manga pages, especially with the bandage guy, I just draw the human figure and his hair, and then draw the clothes while I'm doing the lineart. :)
Thank you! You too! :D
At least from what I remember, breaking panels were always used for introducing characters or to convey a full body pose that would be rather awkward if not fully shown. Had to reference a panel in one of my Megaman volumes for the last bit. ^^;
Ah okay thanks! Cuz I'm just using SAI for the lineart and then Photoshop for the tones and straight lines and text~ Love the pen tool~~ Rough sketches are very helpful to me, since I can't draw something right at the spot~! XD Good luck!
Uhhhh actually not that sure xD;; I haven't been paying attention. I do know that the lineart takes much longer than the toning does, and it's more frustrating for me @__@
Haha and don't worry, I am too. XD That's why I'm scared of inking traditionally. I mess up so much OTL
Usually on things I have trouble inking on, I use the pen tool. It comes in handy when you want stuff to be symmetrical or if you're having trouble making round things round(this is usually a problem for me xD), plus it can save a bunch of time.
Another thing that helps me is rough sketches. I used to do really detailed sketches, and it would take longer because I would try and make the lineart just like the sketch or something. I've learned that rougher sketches will save time, and make the lines look more natural. Plus, if you're drawing a character that you draw a lot, you'll know where the details are and you won't need to worry about including them into your sketch :D
That's what I do~~ Hopefully it helps! :D and I hope you'll be able to save some time~ Linearts can be so annoying sometimes @__@ I usually don't pay much attention to them unless it's for a really detailed/serious drawing.
Fun-chan, how long does it take you to draw up your lineart? Cuz I'm working on mine and it takes forever for me~~ DDD: (Although partially my fault cuz I'm a perfectionist ^^')
Anywho, it looks good to me! Can't wait for it~~<3
Yeahhh I wasn't too sure on whether I should do it or not either XDD;;; I usually just try to keep the panels simple and everything but I wanted to try something new. c: Though I should probably look in to when it's most appropriate to use it haha
It looks great so far though I think the breaking the lines are used rather...oddly here? It might've been a better idea to have it focus on her face. But, hell, that's my opinion and I haven't really read much manga recently, so I could be totally wrong. XD
