Welcome to Leijiverse, the.Otaku.com-based fan-site WORLD that focuses on the anime and manga works of legendary manga author Leiji Matsumoto (such as Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999, Submarine Super 99, Cosmowarrior Zero, The Galaxy Railways, Queen Millenia, The Ultimate Time-Sweeper Mahoroba, SF Sayuiki Starzinger, Danguad Ace, etc) as well as the late Yoshinobu Nishizaki's most legendary sci-fi franchise Space Battleship Yamato (which Matsumoto himself helped create). This will also focus on non-Leiji Matsumoto-created movie and T.V. projects based on the master's characters and works.

News: Evangelion's Creator Storyboards Main Ttitles for Yamato 2199

According to last night's news at ANN, Hideaki Anno, creator and director of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and director of the original "Gunbuster", is currently in the process ofillustrating the storyboards for the opening titles sequence of the upcoming "Space Battleship Yamato 2199".

In case some of you don't know this, Anno himself has been a fan the "Space Battleship Yamato" franchise since the 1970s, makes you wonder what nostalogic value he plans to include in the op animation. Nevertheless, he's still commited to his work on "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo", which is scheduled for release in theaters sometime this Fall.

News: Leiji Matsumoto Turns 74

Not much to post here today, but today, Leiji Matsumoto, creator of "Captain Harlock" and director of the original "Space Battleship Yamato" series, turns 74 years of age and still remains active in the anime and the manga biz, especially with a few big projects he has on his watch for this decade and with a world summit event to celebrate his career in July 15 and 16 in Tomioka, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

Many birthday wishes to the guy who co-redefined anime as a medium in the 1970s with "Space Battleship Yamato" with many years of excitement to come.
