In Winter of '08, ANTI FEMINISM and Hagakure did their "Beauty & the Punk" tour, which couldn't describe Hagakure's "Kaya" and ANTI FEMINISM's "KENZI" any better XD Anyway, this is the before-tour interview they had with Kenzi. ~enjoy

PS: Tell us how ANTI FEMINISM got started?
KENZI:I wanted to do something that wasn't so soft. I wanted to have a band with a strong image that made an impact.
PS: When you started the band, was it always your intention to have a roatating cast of band members?
KENZI: I wanted the freedom to play with whomever I'd like to play with, with musicians who share the same feelings or are in sync with me at the time. Therefore, there are no formal members.
PS: Your website says that you have worked with over 200 musicians. Is there anyone like to work with but haven't?
KENZI: There is no one is particular. I decide who I want to play with when I go out drinking with others. If we are having a good time drinking together and if there is shared excitement that comes out of drinking together, that's when I decide who to work with next.
PS: Your live shows are known for your elaborate stunts. Os this something you experiment with out side of live performances or have been doing since your youth?
KENZI: It's not something that I practice with the band or doing rehearsals. I just do it during live performances. I'll be watching movies or reading manga, etc. and I'll come up with some ideas from them, but I don't think it's very cool to practice this sort of thing outside of concerts.
PS: Where is it coming from, this desire to perform the stunts on stage?
KENZI: I do it because I hate the idea og having to conform to a certain act of social civility or etiquette. I am drawn to danger and dangerous things. I want to do something that will leave the audience taken aback. And I want to do the things that will leave an impact rather than just standing on the stage playing instruments.
PS: What's the worst injury from a live performance you've ever had?
KENZI: I've had many! The worst is probably when I broke my finger (holds up his disfigured middle finger). And also I've had many bad cuts on my body (points to his bandaged forearm).
PS: How did you break your finger?
KENZI: I broke my finger when I dove off the stage straight into a big woman in the audience.
PS: In Japan?
KENZI: Yes, in Niigara.
*laughs* So yes. You can tell he has asshole qualities.
