Gackt is finally off to Hollywood!

It was decided that Gackt plays in a Hollywood movie as an actor! Snoot Entertainment company and Picturesque company started shooting a latest movie "BUNRAKU" staring Josh Hartnett(leading actor in "Pearl Harbor" (2001), the photograph left) and Demi Moore(leading actress in "ghost" (1990)). The some concerned with Hollywood film pay attention to Gackt who played the role of Kenshin Uesugi on the NHK TV saga "FU-RIN-KA-ZAN" last year. Guy Moshe who works for this scenario and the supervision of this work longed for Gackt as a partner of Josh Hartnett, the main character. The film director came to Japan himself and persuaded Gackt zealously to play in the film. His great zeal for Gackt touched his heart and made him decided to welcome the offer!

I'm honored that my expression of the new Kenshin Uesugi image I played in a TV saga "FU-RIN-KA-ZAN" last year was admitted in the world. In the setting of the huge world in the near future, I was very interested in the role that could express Bushido spirit as a partner of Josh Hartnett, leading actor.
More than else, a film director himself came over to Japan and showed his great zeal for my appearance in the film. His such sincere attitude impressed me a lot and I felt that they are much in need of me in the film. So, I gave my willing consent to his offer.
I want to prove my performance and expression will be accepted in the world among the big actors representing Hollywood. Please expect me and look forward to it. I'll go to accomplish a dream again.

May 2 past&present

Today marks the 21st birthday of Lolita Jpop singer, Nana Kitade. ^_^ Nana is SO cute *laughs* Many of you may know her for her anime songs...example she does "Kesenai Tsumi" as 1st FMA ending. She also does many other anime including D. Gray Man. So hopefully she will have a great birthday ^_^ ♥

Today also marks the 10th anniversary of hide Matsumoto of XJAPAN. I'll go ahead and just copy what this says about him.
Hideto Matsumoto died on May 2, 1998. After a night out drinking, he was found hanged with a towel tied to a doorknob in his Tokyo apartment. While authorities deemed Matsumoto's death a suicide, several of Hide's friends and colleagues stated that they believed it to be an accident, among them X Japan co-founder Yoshiki Hayashi and former X Japan bassist Taiji Sawada. This notion is supported by the fact that no suicide note was leftand Sawada theorizes in his autobiography, that at the night of his death, Hide may have been practicing a technique to relieve upper back and neck pains which guitarists can suffer from continuous use of a shoulder strap. The technique involved was practiced by the X Japan members during their touring days and required the use of a towel and a door knob or handle. According to Sawada, Matsumoto may have fallen asleep in his intoxicated state, becoming caught and strangling himself.
On July 8, 2007 Yoshiki Hayashi announced to be in talks with several musicians regarding a Hide tribute concert set for 2008, in order to commemorate the tenth anniversary of his former bandmate's passing. The Hide Memorial Summit will be held on May 3 and May 4, 2008 at the Ajinomoto Stadium, which X Japan, as well as many other popular bands, will perform at.

Versailles ~Of Metal and Roses~ interview PART 1

^_^ Here is the interview that I promised! I have to type it all out so -_- XD yes. I hope taht you enjoy it! It's a bit lengthy, but it covers alot of stuff about them and their music, and is very funny at a lot of parts XD I am going to break it down into two parts. *nods* so here is part one! Part 2 will come on Thursday!

PS- Purple Sky Interviewer (Sarah Dworken)
Ka- Kamijo (vocals)
Hi- Hizaki (guitar)
Te- Teru (guitar)
JY- Jasmine You (Bass)
Yu- Yuki (drums)

PS First of all, thank you so much for coming here and meeting with us. I know you have very busy schedules and I really appreciate it.

everyone It's our pleasure.

PS Congratulations on the release of your new album Lyrical Sympathy

everyone Thank you.

PS Could you say a few words on how you feel about your new album?

KA Even though it's our first album, we put so much spirit and work into it.

PS I can really tell you put your heart and soul into it. Is there anything else you can say about it?

everyone (laughs)

HI It's a really good start even though it's our first album. We worked so hard for it.

JY We started by releasing a DVD album and then put it together in a compilation album. Now we're releasing a new album.

PS Is that the typical process to release it in that order?

KA We started with a DVD album because people use their eyes and other senses, right? Releasing it that way is something unique we came up with.

PS You are all veterans of visual kei. For example, Kamijo, you were in the very famous Lareine. How have you brought these previous ex[eriences in other bands together to become Versailles?

Ka Last year Hizaki and I started thinkinh about this band and we gathered our final members. Now that we've gotten together I think we have a better band than before. I think these are the best band any of us have had.

PS How did you chose the name Versailles?

everyone (looks at Hizaki)

Hi The name Versailles was there at the beginning. We started calling ourselves that and, as the music process continued, we just got used to it. It's really the only name we could think of. It just fit.

PS That's really poetic.

HI (laughs)

PS Let's talk about the new album for a little bit. Lyrical Sympathy has a lot of string ensembles, piano, and even brass. I was wondering if any of you were classically trained.

KA We are all really interested in classical music. Hizaki and I are the core classical lovers. My grandmother and mother used to play the keyboard, so I already have influences from there. That's a reason why I have an interest in classical music.

PS Anyone else?

YU I'm really a hardcore rock lover.

JY I'm actually a magician.

PS Can you show us a trick?

JY Well, I haven't prepared anything but...(Jasmine You preforms a little trick involving flciking an elastic band from one finger to the other).

PS Oh! Very Nice!

JY Thank you.

PS Anyway, Lyrical Sympathy is a really emotional album. What sort of feelings wer you thinking of throughout the album?

KA I was really thinking a lot about the lyrics. The emotions came from there. While I was writing the words I was thinking about what emotions I wanted to express and what the story would be. It's about love, the love that hummans can not feel, something way beyond human comprehension. And of course, the loneliness that comes with it. All those natural feelings, I contemplate on these things very deeply.

PS Without getting too specific, did these emotions come from certain experiences?

KA What we feel is real. We're not making it up. We only create what we see.

PS So they are very genuine lyrics. A lot of people can relate to them.

KA Basically, we want people to understand, but we don't want them to ask more than that. I don't want people to think that I'm selfish. Yes, it's better for people to understand the lyrics.

PS I'd like to ask you about your musical influences. We already talked about your classical influences, but what about from the rock world?

KA I was really inspired by movie soundtracks. Like Paul Mauriat and John Williams.

YU I really like Dream Theatre.

TE As for me, I really love melodic metal.

PS I can hear that very much in your music.

Te Oh? Thanks. Also, I really lie symphonic metal.

PS How do you incorporate all these influences into your songs? Do you feel that your inspirations from listening to music help you to creat music?

KA Well, I've been listening to John WIlliams for my whole life. My music is really based on that too. When we incorporate all these different styles, this is what comes out.

YU I've worked with many different bands and those experiences have been my influence. My music is built on them.

HI While we're making music, I concentrate on the techniques I've learned over the years. I like to say I've gained experience through them. I've been basically following that method.

KA But I won't be influenced by any artist who might be my rival. On the contrary, I would liek to influence them.

PS Hizaki, you are still releasing solo material, correct? How do you balance the two projects, the band and the solo career?

Hi Yes, I am still doing the solo work. Well, first of all, I do it because I am trying to build up my skills. I'll concentrate on Versailles more even though I'm releasing a mini-album at the end of February.

UPCOMING CONTENTS!
