Nitpickery. Not your job

I know that some people really want to do the right thing and be helpful when telling others "Don't do this" or whatever, but when it's something really nitpicky like saying "Don't say 'I think', that makes you afraid to sound like you're wrong." really gets my goat. If that's something that irks you, then fine, but it doesn't mean I have to bow down to your wishes and do something to your standards. I'm not out to please intellectuals and their incessant need to pick at people's thought processes. That's the way I externalize my thought process. Sure, maybe using the qualifier "in my opinion" is a bit redundant, but I hardly think it's someones job to play thought police.

If you have nothing constructive to add, then don't be an ass and do it anyway.
