Look at this photograph, everytime I do it makes me laugh...

Making this wall made me want to cry...

This was made for the Creative Quotes challenge. Basically, I had to choose one of five quotes and incorporate it into a wallpaper. I chose: "Some people are so afraid to die they never live."

I've been thinking about making a wall for Hughes for about 2 years now (have I mentioned my procrastination problem?), and this challenge finally got me the motivation to do so.

I started with the idea of film strips with screenshots of his life, but it wound up as photographs instead. Then I needed to figure out a way to squeeze the quote in, so I kept with the rectangular theme and went with index(?) cards. but then it felt like something was missing, so I decided to add in the white rose. Believe it or not, I had originally intended the wall to be grunge/vector, but it ended up all realistic-like. Not that I'm complaining, I think it looks really good.

The thing that took me the longest on this was organizing all the pictures and getting everything to fit. It's really not fun when you have 50+ layers to work with. The text especially was hard to organize; even now I'm not altogether happy with it. And all the layers made the extremely irritating to convert to Standard res. That was my least favorite part of making this wall.

My favorite part was definitely playing with the colors. I love the Desaturate command. The Monday Morning Violet filter was fun too.

Waitaminit...the color scheme, the whole photograph idea, does this wall remind me of something...? <---shameless plugging

'til next time~ R.I.P Hughes. It really sucks to be a supporting main character. Not important enough to be granted main character invincibility, but not obscure enough to be overlooked when it comes time to kill off a character.

Quote of the Day~ I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

More shameless plugging:

Here's an online rpg I recently got hooked on. It's mostly a parody based on Naruto, but there's also Bleach, Death Note, Code Geass, and probably more but I don't remember. A bit hard to get the hang of at first, but it gets really addicting. The bad(or good) thing about the game is that almost everything you do takes stamina, so as soon as you run out (it goes fast) you can't play anymore for the day. Pisses me off, but it's the only thing that's kept me from living at the computer for the past few days...
