Hey hey,
So I finally got around to submitting my entry for Wayward's challenge. I feel the need to do a little bit of an explanation of it.
Basically, the little story sums up much of my feelings (and angst, lol) that I had in high school.
I was constantly feeling so confused about relationships I had with girls, and just my overall outlook on what I was thinking about "love" in general. After some time I began to just assume that I'd end up alone. At first that rather depressed me, but then I came to feel almost pleasant about it. Which is what the story is mainly about: the idea that if you do end up with someone in the end, then all you have to do is just keep living your life; eventually it will come together.
While some may say that what I am talking about is "fate", I'd rather disagree. I've never been one for believing in the whole idea of "fate", but rather in something that is moderately associated with it. It's more along the lines of, "Whatever happens, happens".
Whatever the case, the story was quite enjoyable to write. While I really do not like writing fiction anywhere but in a book, I felt that this challenge was enough to make me come out of my shell and write fiction on the Internet.
I've also never liked short stories, so it was rather interesting to write one of my own. I wanted to try to write something as different as possible, but still within the bounds of the challenge, so after a bit of thinking, I thought of writing about a metaphorical trial (as the challenge was about two people going through a trial). I haven't done any writing like this in a long time, so it was really quite enjoyable. I don't know if I made the story as clear or as good as I was hoping (that it would be interpreted in the same way that I meant it to be), but overall I am rather pleased with myself on the final result. So because of that, I'm happy with it.
Any comments or things of that sort would be deeply appreciated as I haven't shown many people my fiction writings. And this style that I did in particular, I haven't tried too many times, so it would be nice to know how I did (from other people's point of view).
Thanks everyone.
In a rather pensive mood,

Hey hey,
In preparation for Youmacon (two weeks!!), I'm going over some Gurren Lagann episodes so that I can do a better job of being Kamina.
One thing I want to do at some point during Youmacon: say the following speech thingy.
Who the hell do you think I am?!
Blazing beyond heaven's limits, bursting out of Jeeha village...
Slaying as many Ganmen as there are stars...
The great Kamina-sama, devilish leader of the Gurren Brigade...is none other than me!
(cue fangirl rush)

Hey hey everyone,
I've already attempted to write this out twice, so I'm giving up the wholre paragraph thing and going with point form (it's easier to read also, right?).
So, my Thanksgiving long weekend:
- overall, very awesome
- my siblings, my parents, and I were all up at our cottage (which basically never happens nowadays due to conflicting schedules), which was really cool
- lakes at this time of year are FREEZING...but it really wakes you up in the morning
- best provisions to bring on a hike (a 2 and a half hour hike at that): beer
- drinking and saunas is always encouraged
- when you come out of the sauna at this time of year, your body steams...it looks really awesome
- finally found out what temp the sauna we always use is usually around: 75 Celsius
- Sunday it was snowing...it was awesome!
- my brother and two of our cottage friends went wakeboarding while it was snowing, the pics look awesome
- I would have, but I haven't gone wakeboarding enough times to bet that I wouldn't fall into the water (the others did dock starts and dock landings), and having to wait to be picked up would not have been fun considering the temp of the water (scientifically, the water was FREEZING degrees)
- another friend brought up an Australian friend of hers. No matter how many times I meet Australians, I still find their accent awesome.
- Thanksgiving dinner was the largest one our cottage friends and us have ever had: 32 people
- the dinner tables were divided into two groups (as they always are): the "adults" and the "kids" (i.e. the children of the adults). Amusing fact, the youngest at the "kids" table: 20 (me, I'm the youngest of the group by five years). The oldest: 30 (my brother). Yeah, we're all getting old. lol. We were joking about what it was going to be lie when we, the "kids" start having kids (which is kinda amusing in that in the...like 12 or something kids, all ages between 25-30 (except me at 20), none have any kids, or are even married).
- much drinking and food was had. Awesome dinner was awesome.
- Didn't have much of a hangover after either nights I drank, so I'm proud of myself in my responsibility, lol
- Played Fire Emblem (the "first" one for the GBA) on my lappy to and from our cottage. Result: I am now addicted to another Fire Emblem game.
- And at final count, I took over 200 pictures and videos in two and a half days. Sweeeeet.
Once again, overall the weekend was awesome.
And now that it's over, next thing is: YOUMACON. TWO WEEKS. YEAH. SUPER AWESOME AMAZING FUN TIME IN TWO WEEKS.
And that's enough for now.
Getting back to work,

Hey hey everyone,
Woooo! Thanksgiving long weekend!
I'm off to my cottage for much food and drink this weekend. It's going to be sweet.
Excited,

Hey hey,
I figured that I may as well make a real post on here considering the fact that I haven't really done so since Chicago.
Basically I'm working. Plain and simple. Co-op job is moderately fun and interesting though, so it's all good. Not to mention I'm making sweet, sweet monies that can soon be given directly to my University. I wouldn't want them thinking I'm not a poor student, right?
lol.
But yeah, going well. The only annoyance, as I knew it would be, is the whole getting to and from work thing. Since I opted to live with my parents again this semester, instead of renting a place IN Ottawa, I am back to the 45 minute drives every morning and evening. Still, it's not too bad, as I generally get back around 6:30ish. Though I DO have to usually get up a little before 6:30 most mornings, so that's a big negative, especially after coming from my last semester of not having class until like, 10. Man that was great...
So that means I'm usually in bed by like, 9:30, which, once again, is a bit of a change. But eh, that's just the way that it goes.
Still been playing some Halo ODST, but not nearly as much. Other than weekends, I don't usually have much time for games and the like, especially due to the fact that there always seems to be things happening with the family (like last week had special dinner for my sister's birthday, so that ate up a night). But once again, it's fun stuff, just an adjustment.
Work is going well. The two guys I work with (well, kinda, not directly, they just are part of the same team, but we don't actually work on the same stuff) are awesome, so that makes the job much, much better.
Got the rest of the volumes of the Nausicaa manga (I got the first one a while ago) for my birthday. I finally own an entire series! Huzzah! lol.
Thanksgiving weekend coming up this weekend, so Woo! for long weekend. I'm heading to my cottage, which is going to be nice. My family, and all our cottage friends (a rather big group of people, many of them people that my parents have known for most of their lives as well as their kids and so on) have big Thanksgiving dinners at our lake every year, and I have missed the past two due to University, so I'm looking forward to that. It's always so much fun. Cottage life and our cottage friends are so great.
Next big thing after Thanksgiving is of course...Youmacon! It's crazy that it's so close already! The end of the month and I'll be Kamina-ing it up again. lol.
Speaking of which, I plan on trying to find another belt for my cosplay, so that the previous belt + new belt can be combined into one that will become the proper length for the character. I think I'll be able to do that today since I'll be hanging around a mall for at least an hour today (due to aforementioned family happenings and the like) after work. I also need to make sure I still have a good amount of tattoo paint stuff and the hair dye. And I need to order my train ticket. Think I'll do that next week...
Anyways, that's my life right now. lol. Pretty tired, and kinda down due to various things like not really being able to hang out with IRL friends very often, or talk with many of you online friends. Been doing a lot of thinking on a lot of things, which I believe is starting to make me a recluse, lol.
Whatever the case, that's life.
With a tired smile,
- Kastom
