Hey, I'm Kastom.

Foremost, I'm a gamer. Anime is definitely up there as well though. I'm massively into Physics and Philosophy (hence the current undertaking of and Undergraduate degree in Physics), and I read a lot.

Oh yes, also: my hair is awesome.

I've posted a few of the articles/essays I've written, so if you're ever interested in reading anything that I have thought about or researched, check out my articles world, Kastom's Thoughts.

YOUMACON

Hey hey,

So I'm leaving for Youmacon early tomorrow morning! Getting on the train at 6:45, and shultzie will be picking me up at 4:30!

Also, since I'm taking the train, I can buy some wireless Internet on the ride! I looked at it, and it's cheap, so I"m probably going to get it (I'll have my lappy with me), and upload the Cinematic Titanic vids from Sept.

Anyways, hopefully the hotel we're staying at has Internet. That way we'll upload vids and stuff each day.

So see you guys!

Needs to pack,

I wasn't going to...

Blah....sick...

Hey hey,

Yeah, so I'm sick. It sucks. Gots a terrible sore throat. So I stayed home from work today.

On a good note though, I used this time to...urm...finish off the rest of Code Geass.

lol.

Yeah, I watched the first 6 episodes of the second season last night, and then the rest of them today. Just finished 'em. So...yeah. Watched the entire series in three days. Not bad, eh?

Hahahhaahhaa...

Overall, I really liked it. It had a nice, slightly different flavour to it, which I really quite liked. The ending, while I found it obvious once Lelouch took the throne, was good. I just found it a little too predictable, partly due to the fact that I had once thought up a series of books whose story had one of the main characters using the very same reason for wanting to rule as Lelouch did at the end. Still, I quite liked it. And I have to say that the thing I liked best about it, was that at least several of the main characters realized what Lelouch had done. In particular, I was SO happy that Kallen (Karen, whatever her name is) realized and understood what Lelouch had done. She was definitely overall my favourite character (though I do have to say that I really liked Lelouch, he's possibly one of my favourite main characters ever). Still, after the first few times I saw Kallen, I definitely became a fanboy. Hahahahahhaa...I'd say that she is now up there near Sheena from Tales of Symphonia.

lol.

Anyways, I'm just going to try to get better now. I need to be feeling in the best shape for NEXT WEEK!! YOUMACON!!!

Weekend

Hey hey,

So had a pretty good weekend. Three main highlights.

One: Played a bunch of Halo 3: ODST Firefight. My brother and I tried to actually beat a level of it (I'm not actually sure if it's possible...lol, considering the whole point of it is "survive"). One game we played for 3 hours before we lost. It was epic.

Two: Watched all of the first season of Code Geass...on Sunday. lol. I marathon things, I can't help it. For the first while of it, I REALLY liked it, but these last few episodes have been so...depressing and just....blah. Real downers. But pretty much what I expected considering the pretext.

Three: Had my last soccer game on Sunday before the tournament next week. We tied 3-3. The greatest thing about it though (for me, lol), was at the very end. Last play of the game went like this: opponent's goalie dropkicks the ball, one of their forwards gets it, and begins running. A good ways into our side, I (I play defense) ran up, and stole the ball. And I was just like "Ok, the game is about to end, and I have saved up energy for one last thing." So I proceeded to sprint down the field, outstripping the forward I stole the ball from, and another forward that tried to catch me. A defense on their team came at me from the left, so I dodged around them. Another defense comes at me from the right, I dodged around them. I then take a shot on the net, however it goes right at the goalie. So as the ball shoots towards the goalie, I'm like, "Gah! Ah well..." And I watch as the ball goes straight at the goalie...and RIGHT BETWEEN THEIR LEGS! Hahahaha, it was so awesome! So basically, I took the ball from our end, evaded their entire team, and scored. And the score TIED the game, so at least we didn't lose. Right after I scored, one of my teammates just yelled "I think this is a group hug moment!" It was hilarious. But yeah, sooooo awesome. Definitely one of the better things I've done in my years of playing soccer.

Man I love soccer.

My legs ache today.

Writing

Hey hey,

So I finally got around to submitting my entry for Wayward's challenge. I feel the need to do a little bit of an explanation of it.

Basically, the little story sums up much of my feelings (and angst, lol) that I had in high school.

I was constantly feeling so confused about relationships I had with girls, and just my overall outlook on what I was thinking about "love" in general. After some time I began to just assume that I'd end up alone. At first that rather depressed me, but then I came to feel almost pleasant about it. Which is what the story is mainly about: the idea that if you do end up with someone in the end, then all you have to do is just keep living your life; eventually it will come together.

While some may say that what I am talking about is "fate", I'd rather disagree. I've never been one for believing in the whole idea of "fate", but rather in something that is moderately associated with it. It's more along the lines of, "Whatever happens, happens".

Whatever the case, the story was quite enjoyable to write. While I really do not like writing fiction anywhere but in a book, I felt that this challenge was enough to make me come out of my shell and write fiction on the Internet.

I've also never liked short stories, so it was rather interesting to write one of my own. I wanted to try to write something as different as possible, but still within the bounds of the challenge, so after a bit of thinking, I thought of writing about a metaphorical trial (as the challenge was about two people going through a trial). I haven't done any writing like this in a long time, so it was really quite enjoyable. I don't know if I made the story as clear or as good as I was hoping (that it would be interpreted in the same way that I meant it to be), but overall I am rather pleased with myself on the final result. So because of that, I'm happy with it.

Any comments or things of that sort would be deeply appreciated as I haven't shown many people my fiction writings. And this style that I did in particular, I haven't tried too many times, so it would be nice to know how I did (from other people's point of view).

Thanks everyone.

In a rather pensive mood,

- Kastom
