Karter is a normal 17 year old girl from the humble bungalow of Twilight Town. She has no living family, but instead she has four friends, Eliza, Rex, Emmet, and Ollete, who can make up for the lost space in her heart. When she was a young child, her parents died in a devastating car accident. She was taken to her grandparents, where she stayed until he was 15. They both passed away that year and left their belongings to her. That's where she moved to Twilight Town and met the four friends she calls her "real family". She eventually follows the clues given to her in her dreams, and learns that the hidden powers she unknowingly enhanced at the age of 6 were given as a clue to a secret bigger than she ever imagined. She later finds that she can control those powers. As she follows the hints, she meets Roxas, and eventually Organization 13 members Axel and Demyx, who help Karter and Roxas save their friend, Olette, whom had disappeared into thin air. In Karter's heart, she believes that love and courage is nothing but fantasy. But in time, her coldness and silent, hidden fear is melted away with a love she never knew could blossom.

With fire comes the consequences of heat and pain, love and incineration, explosions and uncontrollability.

My eyes shot open in sweaty fear, pulled me out of the amazingly realistic dream, and into reality, where I was gasping for breath in my bed, alongside a green-painted wall. I glanced out the window across my messy bedroom. "Same old Tw...

*Chapter 1*

The dream was always the same: Thirteen people in black-hooded robes standing in a large circle around a boy my age. He had blond, spikey hair, and bright blue eyes, wide in fear, yet narrowed in fury. He had a large-bladed sword in his shaking hands.
"What have you done with her?" He screamed, glancing challengingly around the circle, and tightening his grip on his sword.
The dark figures snickered.
One of them walked over and stood in front of the boy.
"She's gone, Roxas. You'll never find her," The young man said.
The boy called Roxas shook his head. "No she's not! Stop lying!"
Another hooded person stode into the conversation, and stood beside the other hooded guy.
"Oh, stop being so rude, Marluxia," He said simply as he flipped his hood off. It was a young man with stunning spikey red hair, which was kinda long, and black lines tatooed under his amazingly bright green eyes.
He shined a sly grin. "Be nice to our guest." He folded his arms across his chest.
"Stay out of this, Axel," Marluxia hissed calmly, trying to sound menacing from under his hood.
Axel smiled, then went to stand behind Roxas. He put his hands on the boy's shoulders. Roxas shrugged them off, but still stood there, comforted by someone's kindness.
"Why? So you can drive the kid mad? He just wants to find his girl," Axel defended, blinking his eyes rapidly.
"She's not 'my girl'," Roxas growled.
"okay, girlfriend," Axel grinned, just being annoying.
"She's not my girlfriend!" Roxas yelled.
"Fine, fine. Just his friend, then," Axel sighed. "He just wants to save his friend."
"Come on, Axel, just stand aside so can get rid of him," Marluxia grumbled.
Axel stood up straight, and stood about an inch away from Marluxia's eyes. "No."
Marluxia let out a wail of annoyance as he whipped around and walked back to his spot in the circle. "Demyx, go talk to him, PLEASE!"
A short hooded person nodded, then strod over quickly.
"Axel," Another young man's voice said hopefully. "Could you leave Roxas to Marluxia? Please?"
"Demyx, step aside," Another figure said, pushing him to the side of him with a swipe of his hand. "GO AWAY, AXEL!" He yelled right in Axel's face.
"Oh, that majorly made me mad, Xaldin," He growled, summoning two red and silver wheels with spikes on them by lowering his head and extending his arms vertically.
"Really? Why don't you put your weapon where your mouth is, you useless snuff of flame," Xaldin laughed.
Flames shot up from the floor, flickering angrily.
"I'd love to," Axel replied, lunging towards the figure, beginning the battle.
