Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

Websites, Websites, Websites

Let's talk Tumblr for a bit. My main blog is a little dead. I post stuff now and again, but all of it is original content. I want it to be semi-professional, but I hear that nothing stays professional on Tumblr. Should I alter my main blog to make it all crazy and fangirly? Should I make a side blog for my "professional" stuff? Or should I keep my blog as it is and make the side blog all crazy and fangirly?

I was going to say some other stuff about sites, but it's totally slipping my mind right now. This post may be amended, possibly under a different title.

Update/edit thing: I think I remembered what I wanted to say. It's about Hulu. Apparently you can have a free trial once a year. I just found that out today. Guess who's set for watching anime this month? *Gestures toward self.*

What Do You Do with a Neglected Tumblr?

Edit: Thanks for the input, everyone! I think this is going to be one of those "little of this, little of that" blogs. I just added a post.

This might be off topic, but here goes...

This is my Tumblr. As you can see, it has exactly two posts. I was going to make it my music blog, but it seems that my album is coming along much slower than I thought it would. Hence, why there are only two posts from a few Decembers ago.

So, what should I do? I can't add more of my music, so should I just keep it as it is? Should I scrap the idea of it being a music blog? If so, what should I make it? And do I keep the music posts?

Here are my ideas of what the blog could be (aside from or in addition to music):

  • My art
  • My knitting
  • A personal journal
  • Something involving my OCs
  • Something to market myself
  • A combination of any and all of these

Thoughts?

Let's Be Friends (on Other Sites too)

I don't know if I've done this already, but just for kicks, I'm going to list some of my current Internet hangouts. And when I say "current", I mean, "sites that I have logged into sometime over the past five years". Note that my username doesn't change much.

DevaintART: KebaSiRota (Contains art and knitting. Will include cosplay photos in the future.)

Anime-Planet: KebaFox (For watching and keeping track of anime.)

Crunchyroll: KebaFox (For watching anime and reading manga.)

Tumblr: kebasirota (Contains recordings of original music. Posts are infrequent, but may become more common. Hopefully.)

YouTube: Keba Si Rota (Contains videos of old song performances. Updates are rare due to the fact that Google is a jerk and wants me to use my real name.)

I decided not to include my Ravelry account because, with my DA account, it's kind of redundant. Besides, I doubt anyone has an account there. I'm also excluding the kind-of dead message board that I go to on occasion.

Man, this is kind of pathetic. I need more places to hang out. Suggestions, please?

Speaking of suggestions, I need a little username advice. I want to make a CharaHub account, but I'm afraid that with the name "Keba", people are going to think that my character of the same name is a Mary Sue. Should I use the name anyway, since I'm so attached to it? I have no idea what I'd name myself if I had to pick something else.

Stupid Tumblr [Fixed, Please Ignore]

If you're a Tumblr user and you're not upset by a little foul language, read this. If you didn't read it, let me paraphrase: Tumblr is changing their TOS so that they can use any user's material for their own purposes if it's not copyrighted. Pretty sneaky, huh?

If the powers that be don't change this, I'm deleting my Tumblr account this February before the new TOS goes into effect. It's not likely that Tumblr will find me, but I want to be safe. So listen to my songs while you still can. I apologize in advance to all six of my followers.

Edit!

I contacted Tumblr, and this is what they had to say:

Tumblr has no intention of owning any original content you post in order to sell it for a profit. As stated in the new Terms of Service, "You retain ownership you have of any intellectual property you post to Tumblr."

Thanks for your note. The "Subscriber Content License" section you are pointing to is actually not new - you can see it in the March, 2012 version of the Terms of Service, as well as the annotation to that section that states "you grant us a license to make that content available in the ways you'd expect from using our services."
This section is there so that Tumblr has the rights it needs to make Tumblr and enable sharing of what you post on the site, but as we state, it has no impact on your rights to whatever you post, so the sections aren't contradictory at all. Without these rights, we may not be able to, for example, let your followers see what you post on your blog. Also, again, this section isn't new. Sorry for the confusion!

I feel much better now. Sorry for the false alarm, everyone.

Tumblr?

Anyone have a Tumblr? I just made and deleted an account in the course of an hour. I want to start one again, now that I know what I'm doing.

Before I was able to do anything, I had to subscribe to five different people. I was absolutely wracking my brains trying to come up with five people. If anyone has an account on Tumblr, please let me know so I can add you. If you don't have an account but follow one, post a link so I can watch them, too.

Edit: I made a new one. The name is, surprise, surprise, KebaSiRota. I haven't really done anything much with it. Just added some fancy background.
