Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

Out of the Hospital + Other Stuff

Just wanted to tell you guys that I've been out of the hospital for about a week. Things are going about as well as they can: my pain has been manageable and my strength is returning. The only things wrong are (a) I can't eat solid food for a few weeks, (b) I still can't drive, and (c) I feel kind of isolated and lonely because I haven't been able to go out much. At least I don't have to worry about physical therapy anymore.

I checked out a bunch of anime DVDs from my library's network, thinking I'd watch them in the hospital, but I didn't get to. I've been killing time with them post-discharge, though. (Elricz, if you're reading this, I haven't gotten to Blue Exorcist just yet. It's my first priority after I return those DVDs.)

One thing I'm very glad of is that I finally finished my demos! I haven't forgotten about the Challenge that I hosted prematurely in which the prize was my music that I hadn't finished recording. Now I can say that the rough demos are complete. So to the winners-- Lena, Usa (who I haven't seen around in FOREVER), and Judai-- would you like the demos or would you be willing to hold out for something more polished? Or would you like both?

The final thing I'd like to mention is that my 10-year Otakuversary is coming up in a few months. I want to draw a picture to celebrate, but I have no idea what it should be. Thoughts?

The Eternal Dilemma

I'm feeling inspired to draw, but I don't want to continue the 43681045019 art projects I have started. I want to draw something new. But what? I have no idea. At least I now know why my art output has been so low this year.

Don't you just love when this happens?

Starting Arting

I know "arting" isn't a word. I just thought it would be cute to make a rhyming title. I'm so not funny.

At the place where I work, there are a lot of people who like to do artistic stuff (which has nothing to do with our jobs). So, we formed a little after-work art club. A lot of us had the same goal: we all wanted motivation to draw more.

I actually sketched something that day! It was the main character in the story I've been planning for, like, three years. If you're wondering, no, I haven't made any progress with the actual story.

Speaking of my stories, I wrote a little bit more of Destination. I know it's a corny story, but there was something very therapeutic about writing it. The story arc that I'm writing is drawing to a close, but it ends on an uncertain note, and I have yet to write that part. I just want my OCs to catch a little break before I torture them again.

It's so weird juggling three-- or possibly four-- stories. Sometimes I feel like writing one. Sometimes I want to draw characters from another. Most of the time, I just think about them and try to develop them.

What I'd love to do is make a webcomic. I just don't know which story I could adapt to that format. Plus, I lack the artistic skills. And the time management skills.

Just to end this post on a positive note, I started digitally sketching a pair of album cover parodies. I hope I get them done soon because I can't wait to present them here.

Well Then

One month of the year has gone by and no finished art from me. I guess I'm not making my New Year's resolution quota. Oddly enough, I'm not that disappointed. I, at least, made some progress on two different pictures in the past 31 days. Hopefully I'll get something done this month.

You know, it's a little sad that this World has devolved from my opinions on anime to non-updates on my art. Oh well. It is what it is.

DYNAMIC ENTRY!

WHAT'S UP PEOPLE?!

Alright, enough caps abuse. I'm over-caffeinated but I shouldn't take that out on your eyeballs.

Lately, I've been getting art stuff done. Not only did I finish up my queue of OC answers to your questions, I started some new art. If anyone wants me to livestream them later tonight, I can. That will be from about 9 to 10:30 Central, if you're interested.

I wasn't just productive on art. I finished up another chapter of "Rebels", too. I really had to beef it up from the original draft. It's still a rather short chapter-- kinda cliche, too. I haven't looked at it since I typed it out, but once I finish proof-reading, I'll post it.

Enough about me. I'm going to talk about the anime that I'm watching. OK, that's sort of about me, but in a more passive role. I started a new one (and by "new" I mean new for me) called Spice and Wolf. I'm really enjoying it. Sure, I'm having a little trouble following the talk about money and market values, but I still find it entertaining.

I'm really behind on my anime-watching. I mean, I missed the new season of Attack on Titan in its entirety. Heck, there are a lot of series in which I finished the first season, but haven't picked up the second. I don't know exactly how many series I can watch at once, but I think I'm going to try to start a lot of them.

This brings me to my next point. I'm on the fence about continuing some series. One that comes to mind is Noragami. Although the art was beautiful, I wasn't exactly smitten with the series as a whole. I heard the second season is better, but I still don't know whether I want to continue it or not.

For the record, I'm in no hurry to start Boruto. I may never watch it at all.

To be honest, a great deal of the anime I want to watch would be considered old. In fact, none of them are currently running. Either they've wrapped up or are on hiatus. This is why I feel so behind. I'm not stressing, though. It's only anime.
