A tribute to Taro Yoko

I am going to start this post very basic and get it to the point. Taro Yoko is a fantastic video game director, one that even though not at first, could motivate many people to pursue that what they want.

Taro Yoko is mostly known for his Square Enix published games, Drakengard (series) and Nier.

He has a very distinctive style and a very rare story narrative where his games basically start opening the explanations at the end and further broad it with multiple endings. He also includes many dark themes in his work who are not very common with Square Enix games, like for example the will and purpose to kill another human being.

While his games have great characterizations and story telling, they might fall for some in the gameplay department. Taro Yoko has stated that he never makes the same game, meaning that every game that he has made is similar, but still different enough. But they might lack a lot that current games have. While some games (like Nier) have a fantastic and quite memorable soundtrack, others fall in that and as well as the graphics department. Nevertheless, if you manage to close one eye and look it at from a different perspective, you might actually find even a gem for yourself where there is none.

In most these games are action RPGs, where some are more open world oriented (Nier) while some more on the hack and slash genre (Drakengard).

Overall these are some very unique and different games that might appear poor at first and even after you complete it during your first run (the first ending), BUT if you manage to grab more patience and get more invested into the story, you will discover a true hidden present given only to the most dedicated players.
These games are true gems that many people don't know of, but actually there are many that still would enjoy in them...
