Man, I know I have been lurking in the site for a while... but yeah... I got lots of stuff to do... Work and school and stuff...
I'm due for a couple of reports next month, I haven't started on most of them - a few data gathering and research... I even got rusty with the presentation making skills... > >
Last Friday was a holiday, and the next Monday will also be one. Though I'd like to say that I'll gladly take advantage of any R&R that I can get, I now make use of days off from work to do my other work. heh.
Well, see you around!
Comic strips, that is...
I have rediscovered the joy of Beerkada.
Beerkada is a regular comic strip in one of the newspapers here, and it is among my favorites. I have even bought a compilation of it, named Akibakara (a play on the name Akibara) for it involves some features on the time they went to Japan to represent the Philippines.
Anyway, Beerkada is a combination of Beer and Buddy (barkada) - so it means drinking buddies.
And if most of you people noticed, I've been spamming the chat with some amusing strips that I think some, if not most of you can relate to.
The author is an otaku - which I can conclude based on his references... Cosplay Mafia, anyone? Or How about a Debt Note?
But yeah... the strip is very long, and the characters are amusing. I don't think people not in the Philippines - or aware of stuff going on can relate to everything... but yeah, good stuff.
it's over at http://www.beerkada.net.
Hello everyone. I know I haven't been active in a while... I haven't posted much, nor have I been in the chat with full attention. I have entered the chat only to be disconnected due to inactivity or network fail, hahahaha...
It's just that I use every opportunity that I have to acquire more clients in the office - you know, building a network of clients? I have found out that the wife of one of our co-employees also is in the same business as me, so I got to work more. ;P
But in a way, it also benefits me. It aids in the promotion. What he brings are some stuff that I don't currently have... so people get to see products that I don't have yet... I also bring stuff he doesn't. So, if they're more comfortable with ordering stuff from me, I'm available, if not, that's fine. XD
Who would have guessed that I - a person who prefers to sit in a corner, be quiet and surf the net all day and night, would be finding himself in sales? I'm quite surprised myself... hahahaha...
I'm getting feed backs that I explain clearly and gets the message across well.
In other news, my sister was able to attend an anime-related event... but turned out to be an epic fail! Read about it here.
I also got her to contribute her "rant", convert it to a feature article, and submit it to my Other Blog.
Well, the weekend was not that bad... > >
On Saturday, I had a tough yet fun time. It was my first time being the Master of Ceremonies at a symposium (or anything). Things went well. I prepared a script for me and my partner to use as a guide while the even was taking place. A lot of ad lib's were needed, though... But it seemed we managed to pull through. I stuttered at some point, and spoke at 50 kilometers per hour, or something at that speed, near the end when the event went over time. I thought it didn't matter if the people understood or not. I knew at that point they are thinking of leaving anyway.
The symposium was on Stress Management. The last speaker introduced this simple Chinese exercise. It is like Tai-chi, but simpler... With only eight figures. I found it on the internet as Qigong. We all tried it. It was fun and it indeed relaxed the body. The next day, my back was a bit hurting... It must be from the stretching. ^_~
I'll try to find it and share it with you. I know that a lot of people here gets stressed every once in a while.
The important thing I learned is that breathing is an important key - well, more like very deep and slow breathing... It helps relax the body, slow down the heart rate and removes muscle tension.
Unfortunately for me, since our seminar reached up to six in the evening - I was hoping it would end by 3 or 4 from what my classmates were telling me about the speaker's time allotment, I was not able to attend my other appointment (another seminar) for that day. All that de-stressing became useless. XD I was stressed after that... XD
I learned later that in the other seminar, I had nothing to worry about. (Whew!)
I got good feed backs about my task. It was good when people responded to some jokes we threw. Those that failed was somehow saved. (whew)
Our internet is sort of unstable for today... The router is acting up again. It's brand new, too... So hopefully the warranty will cover it... I don't know if I can pop in the chat without getting disconnected too much...
See you around!
Tomorrow's a holiday, on account of the death of our former president, who has been a pillar of democracy in the Philippines. I don't know if you heard of Cory Aquino, but yeah, tomorrow is her funeral.
On Thursday, I will be away to take care of some stuff - among them is our seminar on the Saturday on stress management. I have already made the cover for the invitation last night. It took me a while... I even solicited the help of ichi to critic and give some additional details. It looks good on the computer. I wonder how it will look on print?
Well, be back on Friday. I bet I'll have loads of backlogs. See you around, everyone!
