Welcome to my World. I'm not very good at these introduction things, so I won't bother.

There are no new quizzes around so I just picked one out from the old ones which I haven't taken before.
Then I realized something... The quiz results are in HTML. Now, this is no problem for MyOtaku members, 'coz they could just use the Quiz Manager. Now, what about TheOtaku Members, eh?
First off, they can't post HTML, so scratch that off the worlds post. And they don't have a quiz manager. That's a plus for us old members.
How I wish to have that handy feature of just clicking the "Save Quiz Results" link back, which instantly saves it to your Quiz Manager...
Today is supposed to be the last day of filing for Annual Income Tax Return here in the Philippines... I thought I didn't have to make one since I am earning pure compensation from one employer...
I wasn't bothering, but when I saw some of my co-workers who had the same status as me working on it, I panicked.
First, I can't make one for all the data are at home (it takes an hour or more to travel home), plus an important document is not available - a certificate of withholding tax from my previous employer.
I can't contact my previous employer who is an agency in Manila. I can't use the phone here to call them up over there due to the long distance charges. If I don't have that document, I might end up paying for the taxes which was already withheld from me. Crap, I can't let that happen.
While trying to figure things on what I can do about it, I decided to see if I can file my return on-line. I can, but I need the data... No dice again.
Luckily, by some sheer accident, I stumbled upon the Bureau of Internal Revenue's Tax Information Page... This is what I got:
* Just think of Blah, blah, blah... You don't need to read it anyway... hehehe * WHO ARE REQUIRED TO FILE INCOME TAX RETURNS Individuals
·Resident citizens receiving income from sources within or outside the Philippines
- individuals deriving compensation income from 2 or more employers, concurrently or successively at anytime during the taxable year
- employees deriving compensation income regardless of the amount, whether from a single or several employers during the calendar year, the income tax of which has not been withheld correctly (i.e. tax due is not equal to the tax withheld) resulting to collectible or refundable return
- employees whose monthly gross compensation income does not exceed P5,000 or the statutory minimum wage, whichever is higher, and opted for non-withholding of tax on said income
- individuals deriving other non-business, non-professional related income in addition to compensation income not otherwise subject to a final tax
- individuals receiving purely compensation income from a single employer, although the income of which has been correctly withheld, but whose spouse is not entitled to substituted filing
· Non-resident citizens receiving income from sources within the Philippines
· Citizens working abroad receiving income from sources within the Philippines
· Aliens, whether resident or not, receiving income from sources within the Philippines
*End of senseless data *
Well, after reading that one, I realized that the only one which fits my description, is the one in bold. But I am not married!
That my friend, is what I call a close call. I just found out that I am not required!
Whew! If I was required to file this stupid thing, then I will certainly be penalized. I think it will involve a higher tax to pay.
First off, the power company’s doing some repairs to the power lines of the place, so the entire day, we had no electricity – making the office as hot as a cooking oven. Good thing there was a cool breeze blowing every once in a while… but still, it was terribly hot.
Then on the way home, something really worried me. While riding the bus, we met a bus that had an accident. Heard that it lost its brakes, or something like that. Everyone was fine, except the driver who suffered some injuries. I can’t say if it was serious. He was later loaded to the bus we were riding when they found out he was in the nearby town, coz they were in the same bus company, to be taken to the city for treatment. That bus was the only bus line in the route that takes me to office… gulp…
And to make thing more strange and creepy, another bus, from a different company, also met an accident when it hit a jeepney. I don’t think there were any serious injuries or stuff, coz we only passed by it… Take note though that it was only a couple of meters from where the first bus accident took place.
And just when I was thinking if this was some sort of freaky coincidence to have two buses just a few meters or something away from each other had an accident, contemplating if this is some kind of message that I should be more cautious or something, another accident with two trucks were encountered along the road, just before we entered the city… This one was more like some bumper-hitting or something… I can’t tell for sure. But one thing is certain… I can say that the three accidents encountered got less in severity as we met them…
Bu seriously, people should be more careful… Man, this is the most accidents I have seen in a day!
