Blaze chapter 3

OMG i haven't posted anything for AGES, so i figured i'd better type something. This is my shortest chapter on here by far, but i wanted to do something quick.

Saying goodbye had been easier than Blaze had thought, but she still felt guilty about the sad look in Cole’s eyes. Still she knew she had to go again, but she’d be back…eventually. Zee Zee wasn’t happy about the change in plans and begged blaze not to go, but she already knew it was useless. Blaze felt protective of the coven, though she had never truly fitted in and she was determined to end any threat to them.

“Mistress please listen to me.” Zee Zee implored. “I know you love adventure but must we really leave again?”

Blaze sigh they’d been travelling for over a week now and Zee Zee still wouldn’t be quiet and ignoring her didn’t seem to be working. “Look we’re leaving, I’m not going to change my mind and if you don’t drop the subject you can go back to daddy and leave me to go on alone.” It was the fist time she had ever threatened her friend like this, but her ;patience had been drawing thin over the past week and she was sick of being criticised.

Zee Zee froze at Blaze’s words, it was obvious she had never expected them. “Why must you be so difficult Mistress? I have your best intentions at heart, why can’t you just listen?” The sprite seemed honestly puzzled and Blaze sighed.

“I’m not a child Zee. I need a friend, a companion, not a guardian. Why can’t you just be that? A friend?”

“I wasn’t assigned to be your friend.”

“I know your weren’t, but if you can’t be what I need then you no longer serve your purpose and I’ll have to let you go. I can’t stand you trying to control me any longer.” She tried to soften the words, but they were still harsh and she couldn’t help but wince slightly as she spoke them.

“You don’t mean that Mistress.”

“But I do,, at least I do now. Who knows how I’ll feel in a week, a month. Look maybe it would be good if you left me, just for a while. Let me get my head around everything that’s happened?” She looked at the sprite with the question held in her eyes. She knew there was no way she could order Zee Zee away, she loved her too much. But she also knew that she needed some space. The decision was Zee’s alone.

The sprite stared at Blaze for a few moments, not quite ready to believe what she heard. But finally she spoke. “If that is what you want Mistress, then I will leave. But I’ll come back. I promise you and if you need me all you need to do is call.”

Blaze paled. She hadn’t expected the sprite to give in so easily and it hurt. Still she’d been the one to ask and she wouldn’t take back her own words. “So you’ll leave?” She asked. “You’ll let me continue on alone.”

“if it is what you want Mistress” She answered sadly.

“But why are you giving in so easily?” It was a rude question but Blaze needed the answer.

“To tell the truth Mistress, I’ve been expecting you to say something like this for a while now. I’ve had enough time to make my decision.”

“So this is goodbye then?” Blaze asked with the voice of a child. She’d been with Zee for as long as she could remember. This all seemed like a dream.

“For now” Zee said and without another word she flew out the window of the train and was gone.

Blaze blinked at the space where her friend, guardian and mentor had been only a moment before. “What just happened?” she whispered to herself.

Gah, i can't belive Zee Zee left! I mean WTF? They were fine and now Blaze is by herself. Honestly when i put my fingers to the keys i had no idea it was going to turn out like that!
All my characters hve a life of their own, and they do whatever they want *sigh* i guess i should be used to stuff like this by now.
I'll try and post some more soon but i'm still uber busy. Hope you like it ^-^ and please comment
