Biking is fun but for swimming you don't have to be strong swimmer to get a workout. Swimming in general will give you a work out because you are using your entire body to swim. Plus the more you go the stronger of a swimmer you will become. Even just treading water requires your entire body to stay a float. Your legs, core and arms will feel it. Mine do every time I tread water since I can't float to save my life. 8-) But just enjoy what you decide to so you want to keep doing it.
I've thought of that, but I'm not a very strong swimmer, so I'm not sure I'd get a very good workout with it. In the summer, I'm hoping to get a bike and go biking.
I wish I enjoyed running, but it's so hard on your joints, so I tend to avoid it. Lifting weights and doing pilates is what I enjoy. Especially the weights. So good!
I think that since it was Thanksgiving, which is basically a liable reason for people to stuff themselves into a state of near-hibernation, that was acceptable.
But its good that we're thinking about remaining active. I'm trying to cut out at least 45 minutes every day to running.

Swimming is a good way to work the body and is way less painful on your joints. Just with winter coming would need to find an indoor pool area.

Oh yeah, running is painful as hell. Especially on concrete or non-flat surfaces.
Although I'm predicting if the chilling air shooting into my lungs and practically freezing the enzymes in my body will numb the pain/discomfort.
