Greetings! I'm Loraena and I hail from Potopolis! However, for classified reasons I am residing on earth disguised as a human. I created this world to share advice on how to live amongst humans so feel free to leave comments of your own experiences as well! Communication

My first post is going to be about communication. As we know humans are a devolved species, meaning they have yet to develop any telepathic abilities. Therefore humans are forced to communicate with eachother by forming sounds with the large cavity on their heads. They call this "Speaking". The human head cavity is more often called the "mouth". The human's mouth is composed of several parts but they only use the fleshy blob in the center called the "tongue" to speak. Just as different regions on our planets have different languages so do the different regions on earth. Where I am living right now the main language spoken is called "english" which I am told is a very hard language for most humans to learn if it is not their native language. Humans also change their patterns of speech through time so you may want to listen to a few humans speak before you attempt it. They way english was spoken three hundred years ago is different from how it is spoken today. Also, depending on the type of human you are with there are different words (called "slang") that they use to communicate different meanings. So the best thing to do before speaking is listen to the humans you are near and follow how they speak.

Now that I've covered the basics of speaking we can move on to written communication. When humans are not speaking they use symbols that stand for words to communicate. This guide is a form of written communication, I put these symbols here and you can understand what I say. This is called "writing". Depending on what language you are writing in the symbols will differ. Finding out what the symbols are for the language you are speaking is not difficult. Just look around you. There are things with words written on them all over populated places.

You may be wondering how humans communicate from distances. When a human wants to communicate by speaking they use a device called a "telephone" to "call" the person they want to speak with. This device enables humans to communicate with eachother all over the world and usually consists of a numberpad and a reciver.

Humans also send eachother written communications called "letters" through an orginization called "the Postal Service" the things that are send are usually called "mail" (not to be confused with "Male" the term for masculine humans) If you want to mail something that means you want it to be sent through the postal service to another place. This "mail" can also be sent all over the earth.

Humans have also developed a network called the "internet" which you are using right now to access this information. Using the internet has become a much more common way for humans to communicate as of the last fifty earth years. There are services you can find on the internet that will register you to be able to communicate via "email". Email means "electronic mail" and is when a letter is written but instead of mailing it the human uses the internet to send the information. If you want to do this you need to know the human's "email address" which consists of some type of username followed by this symbol: @ and the name of the service they are using.
If you need help using any of these forms of communication just ask an adult human, most of them are very helpful.
