previous lesson:Basic steps
Hi people, this is the second lesson of Traditional Art from "Help me Draw!!".
Many times people that draw/paint often feels like 'empty'....or without inspiration.
Where to look to find inspiration? Here some tips that can help you.
All of those can help a lot to increase your will or in another case to make inspiration born inside you. In all cases have a withe paper and a pencil near, just in case *winks*
Music:
I recomend non-talked-music...I mean, just the music without voices. Different kind of songs can make you feel different emotions. Try it in a quiet room. If you need it with lights OFF.
All of them are usefull for different kind of artistical manifestation as writing, drawing, painting...anything that comes to your mind.
Art Pieces:
Looking at other's art pieces can be so helpfull. Remember that you're looking for inspiration and not looking forward to draw/paint the same art piece, that would be frustating for you, and we don't need that. We need inspiration, that's all. You can get ideas about coloring, textures, and styles. But don't try to copy now.
Nature:
This is the most wonderfull inspiration source. Nature is full of different shapes, colors, textures, sounds, smells, lights and dark, tastes....it's the perfect inspiration source in my point of view.
If you have a green place in your home or neighbour, go there and sit for a while. Look at everything surroinding you, look at little details. Hear all possible sounds. Feel air's aroma. Look at the sky: there're many clouds waiting for your eyes to look at them, so they'll show you the most incredible art pieces you ever saw!
Again, carry paper and pencils with you.
Self-look:
Here we get to the point that we look inside ourselves to find emotions, memories and everything we need to get inspired. It can be either a happy or a sad feeling that motivate you to draw. You can find infinity of feelings inside you depending of yourself.
To find them lie in a quiet place. No sounds around, just you and your soul. Close your eyes and let all thoughts pass away. With your blank mind start to feel your feelings. Stay like this for a while, until you find a strong feeling you want to put in paper or when you think it's enough.
Incense, flower's scent can be very helpfull to develope your emotions. Also you can try it in different places. But look at comfortable ones.
Dreams:
Dreams can show us alternative realities...some times terrorific ones, or heaven like ones...or just wierd and incomprehensibles ones...it all depend of you. Some people says that dreas can reflect our fears, our goals, the way to solve life's situations, maybe can show premonitions...its another 'rich' world, another great inspiration-source for us.
Many people thinks that they don't dream...and the fact is that everybody have dreams, but some people can't remember them. So, as help for tey to remember your dreams, relax before you go bed, and say to yourself that you want to remember your dream.
Have near paper and pencil, so when you wake up you can write/draw your dream there. Don't get up before you remember the whole dream with all possible details you can. Let your head liyng on the couch while you try to remember (that helps a lot, believe me!)...after that start writing/drawing what you dreamed.
TV News/Magazines/books/manga books:
Not much to explain. The just fact to read a novel or a magazine makes your imagination boil n___n
Movies:
Same as the previous point. Movies re-create or create different realities. As if they were like our dreams...but in the big screen! :D Images, background music, landscapes, dialogues....can make our feelings surface.
Life situations:
People, acts, fashion.... anything you can note around you can make your inspiration increase. It's not wierd finding art pieces named " My friend X "...sometimes a person can inspire a character or a whole story. This is another inspiration rich source.
So well my friends, I hope this lesson can help you feel more inspirated to draw.
You can tell in the comments what sources gives you more inspiration, and if you have another source that isn't listed here, post them in the commenst so everybody can notice! :D So I recomend you all to also read the comments.
Have a great day!
