D.A: Digital Coloring

There are a lot of artists who use digital programs to color and draw their work. Everyone has their own style and everyone shades/colors in their own way. I will show you how I have colored a line art with the digital program Photoshop. The tutorials and the artwork is submitted so you can find everything here:

I usually start with coloring the area with a flat color with a hard brush, then I pick a darker color and start shading with the opacity sensitive brush. I keep on picking and shading with a darker color until I am satisfied. I then pick a color lighter than the original flat color and start coloring/emphasizing the lighter spots. When I'm finished with that, I go over the drawing again and see if the coloring needs some changes. I use all the colors.

Saving your drawing with different names can be very handy, because if you mess up a layer of coloring you can always fall back on the previous shading. You do not have to start all over again. In some cases I also try out the coloring on a small area to see how it looks - to see if I'm satisfied with that and then I start the actual coloring.

I hope this helps ^^ Any questions? Just ask me! ;P
