yeah that's fine with me. I'll just keep checking to see if mines been published, I only posted it about one and a half weeks ago so you probably haven't been able to check it yet
At present, there is nothing that explicitly notifies you of being published or declined. If you're published, the work'll show up in your Fan Words portfolio (if it's declined, then there's nothing). By that standing, probably the best way to gauge whether a work of yours was declined would be to see what the newest published works are; if the date on the newest one is after the work in question, then it has most likely been declined.
By the nature of our system, no works can be fast-tracked or "set aside for later". They're all first-come-first-serve, and you can't look at anything else until the next one in the line is processed one way or another.
Also, by nature of the volume of submissions, I'm not likely to message people specifically why I turned them down (that'd take up too much time). If you do have any specific questions about any particular works, though, do feel free to PM me - if it's recent enough, I'll probably remember seeing and a once-over will probably say why I published or declined anything.
Hey.
Is the author of a Fan Word notified if there work has been accepted or declined? I understand that it can take a while for you to read through the many submissions you receive so I figure if people know that they will be notified on whether their submission has been approved or not, it will make them more patient and stress out less. I know I would
Hasn't been discontinued, no. I've just been really busy these past couple months and they've all piled up nicely. So yeah, I am about a month behind in submissions, just slowly churning through 'em.
I nominated a piece for publication back on June 13th...was that futile of me? It used to take only about 5-7 days for a piece to go up. I've noticed it's not just me: the latest stuff posted is from the middle of May.
Just wondering if there's a problem with FanWords or if it's been discontinued.
Oh, ok! I submitted it about a week and a half ago. No worries, then. I thought there was something wrong with it. If there's nothing I need to fix to get it submitted, then it's cool. Thanks a lot, SomeGuy!
Yo. It could be one of two things, one of which I'm especially certain.
When did you write/submit it? If it was a week or two (or three) ago, it's because I've been crazy behind in the submission lists. I'm chopping at them harder now, so if this is the case, hang tight for the time being.
If it was longer than that . . . . then tell me which one it was and I'll take a look.
I had a problem similar to Miserywriter's. I don't I have any technical writing problems in my latest nominated fanfiction, and mine is completed as well. Is there something else I need to fix for it to get published?
Ah thank you! I guess thats okay then!^^ (Don't worry, I left the unfinished works without nominating them so you won't have to go through all of them!)
Two main reasons, I'd say. The first is that you do have a couple incomplete stories, so those won't be published until they're complete. More likely, though, it's that you wrote them starting from the 25th and onwards, meaning I haven't quite gotten to them in the list yet (I've been busy, so my work's been backlogged pretty badly).
Sorry 'bout the delay. Most likely, things should be okay for you in the long run, though.
I feel like I've done everything that you've mentioned here so as far as I can tell there shouldn't be a problem with my words getting published but....I don't know, are there any other reasons that you wouldn't promote something for publication? I'd really like to get more feedback on my work but at the moment as far as I can tell the only way to actually see my fan words is to go into my world and read them there...What have I done wrong???
Heehee... why did some of this sound familiar. heehee. Well said Someguy.
Just wish I could get my beta reader to do something. Besides giving me his broken works that he is doing it. Not trying to get him in trouble or anything. I know he has got to be busy, but he took this job on I have been hearing soon soon since the first week after I got a hold of him.
Sounds g0od. I hope I don't have that box cehcked off. I don't think I do.....
I just realized what FAQ stood for yesterday [Frequently Asked Questions].......yes, quite sad.
And I just noticed that we can use the scrolls outside of the commment box, was that always there? Because if it was I apologize, didn't notice it before ^^;
Hehe, and here I just ignored that option since why in the world would I want to have my personal blog up on the front page? o_O That would just be too weird for words!
That and it wasn't that hard to figure out that the option wasn't really meant for that purpose. Because posting on a personal blog/world just isn't the same thing as publication, not by a long shot.
Besides, general guidelines are are already posted here: Click! So if someone is clicking that option... they must have not read that. As my teacher would say... if all else fails... Read The Instructions!*shot*

Okay. I know, life's hectic stuff can really intrude sometimes on what we'd rather do. Thanks for the update. I won't worry. Take care.

I bet simply changing, "Nominate for Publication," to, "Nominate for Fan Words Publication," would help a lot with that first issue.
