Sora no Otoshimono review

Is our true motive and life, just peace and quite? What do we seek and what is special in just staying normal? What if one day angels would fall down to sky? Well, you might just find out…

Creator: Suu Minazuki

Year: 2009

Genre: Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy, Romance

Number of episodes: 14

(Keep in mind that I will be doing just the review of the first series (season) and not the second one. The second one title Forte, will get it's own one.)

You may look and see angels in many animes these days. But actually angeloids? Not so much. And especially in this way shown. This is a touching, romanting, even at some episodes action packed, anime. Oh yeah, I forgot to add the main thing. This is an ecchi full with comedy. And let me tell you, this anime is funny. You might sit through the whole episode just laughing. And after that comes an episode that combines action and comedy, and after that that combines romance and comedy and so on. It is full of everything and will keep your entertain through every one of the episodes.

The story follows a high school student named Tomoki, who is actually a normal perverted boy centered who just wants to live a nice and quiet life. But through his life he always had one strange and sad dream from which he would always wake up in tears. Never knew what it might actually be, together with his childhood friend, a dreadful and mysterious girl and a weirdo who has the best ideas, set on a adventure to find the New World. At the end what he actually finds is a very attractive angeloid who will listen to all the commands of his master. Well not really all, especially after the others find out. The story gets more complicated later, and all fans of love triangles and romance will definitely enjoy, cause there is plenty here.

Visual aspect of the whole anime is… I will be honest, I was stunned. It is very well done, from drawings to the overall presentation, like effects and colors. And one of the most interesting things is the change from normal drawing to chibi ones, usually when something funny or just entertaining happens. The OST is also very well done, always serving and playing just at the right time. What I also noticed are the good sound effects, like the background sound and the sound what you would normally hear yourself. At the end I should praise the endings and the opening of this anime. Opening is nicely done and has a very catchy and nice song. Each ending is unique and usually has a different song for every episode as well as video. They can be sometimes touching, sometimes funny, serving some awkward old anime music, to actually some nice and modern ones.

All in all, this anime is very entertaining in nice. If you don’t mind ecchi comedy and are looking for a modern and funny, as well as romancing anime, definitely give it a go. You won’t regret it.
One of the interesting aspects that I noticed is that Sugata character which is one of the main ones, resembles Ishida from Bleach very much. Though the main character also resembles Kon, but just in their own special way. So you might find some similarities with other animes, but as well as own unique characters!

Animations and drawings: 10/10 – One of the best I have seen by these type of animes.
OST and effects: 9/10 – OST isn’t the best that you hear, but it gets it’s job done. Especially with presentation and the effects that take place.
Story: 8.5/10 – the story isn't the strong part in this anime, but for some reason it keeps you in watching and thinking what will happen next
Entertainment: 9.5/10 – This can depend, but if you give it a chance it might take a place there too.
Overall: 10/10 – The best anime in these genres that I have yet seen.
