Blades are shaken, and an immortal has risen

Blade of the immortal manga review

I just recently (actually a quite while ago, just that I stopped for some time) started reading this manga. It is one of the few mangas that I can get here to buy and even on my language, so I was quite exited for that. It is a little hard to review a manga, but I will try to do it as best as I can.^^
The manga overall is pretty long. Already it has over I think 26 volumes or maybe even more and they are coming out. Now they thing about that is that the manga goes very slowly with the main story. Is that good or bad, depends from reader to reader. You will be reading manga and in next moment actually think how much of all that already happened.

And speaking of story, it is actually pretty realistic. It is set in Edo period of Japan and it is a story of samurai Manji whose main goal is to kill thousand people to lift his curse. His curse is actually immortality and on his way he mets a girl who wants to take revenge on the samurais who murdered her father who was the sensei of one of the main clans there. I know a little weird, but it is actually interesting because every chapter like has his little sub story.
And the thing why I really like this manga is that you can learn so much about Japan and
everything there. From food, weapons, places, historic events, names to many others...

The drawing style of this manga is actually really good, though it is quite realistic too. The only problem about it is that in most of the time action that happens just goes too fast. And that is why there are lot of enemies and each time you met a new one he gets killed really fast.
And by that it means there are a lot of characters, but actually only few that you have to keep an eye on.

And at the end I want to tell that this manga is not for everybody. The reason for that is that even if manga is here rated teen, it actually is for mature. It is because of the realistic aspect, language, violence and scenes. But if you don't mind that then I say definitely go for this one. It actually even has many funny moments and scenes, or at least some that try to be funny. Overall not a bad manga and definitely much better than the anime.

Drawing: 9/10 – the drawings overall are pretty good. More realistic ones, but they define the atmosphere that is there.
Story: 7.5/10- the story can be quite confusing and slow and first, but it becomes better and better.
Presentation: 8/10- Just the though that it is set in Japan and it is connected with whole their culture makes it good enough. Sadly, for other parts are not that good. Battles have amazing finish, but rest is fast and confusing.
Overall: 8/10- Not a bad manga actually and it best thing is that it gets better and better.

This is the main character, Manji. As you can see the art is pretty realistic and different than usual. I prefer the traditional one, but this one is not bad either.
