Hush, Love, Don't cry,
It'll be alright,
Hold me close,
As I administer the dose,
Listen to my lullaby of lies.

So, I have lots of good news!! First off, I found out yesterday that they're KEEPING ME ON in Housekeeping!! I'll only be working 12 hours for them, though. But then I get 3 more hours a week from tutoring my friend in Art History. My supervisor gave me my official Housekeeping shirts this afternoon.

Secondly, my co-worker, Andrea, has a total of 11 newborn kittens at her house. 5 belong to Ms. Grey (1 1/2 years old) and the other 6 belong to Grey's mother, Speed Bump. Grey gave birth on August 13th, outside, and we found the litter 2 days later and brought them in. Speed gave birth yesterday, inside, and had 7, but 1 was stillborn. The kittens are soooo tiny and soooo adorable!! >w< I want to cuddle them all, but the mommy cats don't like their babies to be touched...

Okay, third news piece, I have my Rosiel outfit finished!! I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet, though. I will probably do so on the 29, when I have time to put on the make-up and all. And I should have my contacts in by then! Mom says the contacts should be in by tomorrow...

Fourth happy tidbit, everyone's starting to move back to campus!! So all my friends are returning. I'm not so lonely any more!! It's a good life...

As you can see, I've been in quite high spirits as of late.

Alrighty, then! Since classes start on the 25th, here's my schedule:

Mondays & Wednesdays

  • Rythmic Activities & Lead-Up Games: 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm
  • Ceramics II: 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm (will also be on Fridays at this time)
  • 2-D Studio I: 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm

Tuesdays & Thursdays

  • Ed & Growth of the American Republic: 9:30 am to 10:45 am
  • Art History I: 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm
  • Principles of Learning & Teaching: 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, I'll also be working for Housekeeping from 6 am to no later than 11 am. And at some point during the week, I'll tutor my friend for 3 hours. The 3 hours won't all be on the same day, most likely...

Well, that's all for now!! Stay classy, Otakuites!

So, it's been a while since I've posted. I've been busy working with Housekeeping here on campus. I get up every morning (Monday-Friday) at 5:30 so I can go in at 6:00. I work until 2:30 in the afternoon. I usually don't go to bed until after 10:00 because I wait up for Daku to call me. This week, I've been waking up every morning with a sore throat and I can't shake that feeling of exhaustion. I spent Wednesday night with my Sako-nee (off campus) because it was storming and there was a chance of hail. At the moment, I'm the only one in my dorm building and I don't handle storms very well when I'm alone...Anyways, today I woke up at 5:30, had the sore throat, and felt completely drained of energy, so I called my supervisor and told her I wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be coming in today. I then went back to sleep until about 8:30. I tried going back to sleep then, but I couldn't, so I got up for the day. My sore throat went away, but I'm still exhausted...

Daku left Nebraska yesterday. He stopped in Kansas to visit his friend (the one that will be joining soon to guest post in my cosplay world) for today. He'll be leaving Kansas early tomorrow morning and I'll be going to his house to spend the rest of the weekend with him. I'm so excited!! It's been a long and lonely summer without him, but I'm proud of him for doing the research internship.

I've been slacking on drawing and writing fan fiction lately, largely due to the job...I need to draw at least two more pictures to sell as prints at A2F V!! And I need to add another chapter to my "Kingdom Hearts" fic, as well as finish my "Labyrinth" fic...And I need to finish reading Christopher Paolini's "Eldest" and Anne Rice's "The Tale of the Body Theif". At least I got that book read for my Education and Growth class...I'll have to read it again during the semester, but I read it before classes started so I would be able to understand it better...The guy who wrote it is really wordy, much like J. R. R. Tolkien...

Well, not much else going on. Classes start on August 25, so I'll be getting back into the grind of schoolwork then. Until then, I'll be working with Housekeeping. I hope I can keep that job when classes start. Of course, my hours will change to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. I'll also be tutoring my friend, Lissa, in Art History. We'll have that class together.

Stay classy, Otakuites!

Well, my trip to Nebraska was fun. I got in some much-needed cuddles from Daku. And we did a lot of fun stuff with his family, too. But going there only made me miss him more, and his mom thinks it only made him miss us more, too. But while we were there, we saw "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"!! It was so freaking AWESOME!!! I cried near the end...So did Daku's mom...I knew Dumbledore died in the movie, but I wasn't expecting who killed him. As soon as, "Avada Kadavra!" left the Half-Blood Prince's mouth, the tears spilled over...I learned later that my twin, Celeste, cried too.

I went back to work today. Unfortunately, I had to clock out at lunch because of feminine reasons...The chemical smells were doing a number on me...But I'm going to try to work the full days for the rest of the week. I should be able to...

I've been writing a couple new fan-fictions. One is an "Angel Sanctuary" ficlet that delves into Rosiel's mind. The other (which I haven't finished yet) is a "Labyrinth" fiction, centered around Sarah and Jareth. You can find them on my FFN account, as well as some of my other fictions.

I'll try to update The Secrets of Cosplay later this week, as well. It's been 2 whole weeks since I posted on that world!!

I've also got to work on some new fan art...I need prints to sell at the con in November...

Well, stay classy, Otakuites!

So, my trip home was fun. I mostly sat around the house all day. Mantha spent the night on July 5, so the next day, we went to J-town and hung out. I bought a cute Lolita-ish dress at Body Central. It's mostly white, with black buttons, a black sash around the waist, and a black trim on the bottom. Then on the 7th, my grandma took me to a museum at the college in J-town. It was pretty cool. Then the 8th was my dad's birthday, but he wasn't home to celebrate. The 9th, I had a dentist appointment. I have to go back day before Thanksgiving and get a cavity filled, then sometime on the week between Christmas and New Year's, I have to get my 3 wisdom teeth removed...I'll be asleep for 2-3 days straight...My bottom left jaw is devoid of a wisdom tooth...I'm gonna enjoy being on those pain killers...

I started my job with Housekeeping here on campus yesterday. Already I've found 54 cents, total, and a pane of glass. Me and my partner, Andrea, also found "naughty fun-time" gel...I keep opening drawers wondering what will pop out next...It doesn't help that the building we were cleaning is one of the oldest on campus. In one room today, I got this extremely odd feeling, as did Andrea. I'm pretty sure that room was haunted. Then after work today, Andrea gave me this Inu Yasha art book that she'd found a week or so ago, all because I told her at lunch that I was into anime! How awesome is that?

My Rosiel wig came in today. It looks great! If I braided it, I might be able to pull off Sophie, from Howl's Moving Castle.

I'm going to go with Daku's parents and sisters tomorrow to see him in Nebraska. I don't know if the hotel we're staying in will have free wi-fi, so I may not be on for a few days again. I don't care...I just wanna see my shinobi...He's been gone since the last day of May...I'm so used to seeing him nearly every day that I feel empty inside right now...It's hard to just talk to him on the phone...

Well, stay classy, Otakuites!!

So...Just a quick update. I'm going home either today or tomorrow, meaning I won't be on for a bit. I'll be home for a whole week! Ugh...I don't know if I can survive an entire week with no internet...Though, I'm taking my computer home anyways. Maybe I can work on a new AMV? Or perhaps I could color that lineart I did way back in spring...

My job situation changed. I went into the Financial Aid office on June 29 (Monday) to make sure I had all the paperwork filled out so that I could start my off-campus work-study at the day care on July 1st. The woman started looking in her computer and she told me that I no longer qualified for federal work study. It's complete bullshit!! I qualified at the beginning of May!! I was so pissed off...She told me the only way I could go ahead and work at the day care was if I gave up my unsubusidized loan for the rest of summer. Of course, when I took the loan back in fall when school started, it would be $1000 less than it was before, because that was how much money I'd make working at the day care. I was trying my hardest not to cry, but the tears fell anyways. The lady told me that I could still get a job on campus, because it would only count as institutional work-study, meaning I wouldn't have to give up my loan. So I checked in the cafeteria, but the supervisor said they didn't need anyone. I had to wait to go to the housekeeping and grounds supervisor, so I went to my room and had myself a full-blown breakdown. I punched my bed a couple of times, bawled my eyes out, and bad-mouthed the government. I felt like shit because it seemed like the government didn't want to help the good, honest, hard-working American citizens...Then I went and talked to the housekeeping and grounds supervisor, and she said she had a position! That made my day TONS better! So, I get to start on July 13th.

July 15th-19th, I'm gonna be in Nebraska, visiting with Daku. I'm excited about that. Then, he's coming back home on August 8th. He's going to be glomped to death...

I have an eye doctor appointment on Monday, July 6th. I might be getting contacts! I'm excited. And a little nervous...The last time I tried to get contacts, it took the doctor forever to get one in my eye, I couldn't get the other one in my eye, and then it took forever for me to get the first one out! But I'm much better at touching my eyeball now...

Oh, I saw "Public Enemies" last night! I'm a Johnny Depp fangirl...I went with my friend, Kells...Johnny kept giving away his coats. So we kept hoping he didn't own too many, because then he would end up nekkid...I've never hated Batman so much in my life...Christian Bale plays the cop in charge of catching John Dillinger...So throughout the movie, we were just like, "Oh noes!!1 Batman, joo suckz!!1" The ending sucked, to us...There are some things that you just don't do!! And the director did one of those things...HE FUCKING KILLED JOHNNY!!!! YOU DON'T FUCKING KILL JOHNNY DEPP!!!! And then Kells's dad told us that the real John Dillinger escaped and lived out his life in California...So we were just like, "Oh, FAIL, movie director man!! FAIL!!!" Yes...

Well, that's all I have for now...Stay classy, Otakuites!
