Not only did I get a creature I don't particularly like, I'm not used to playing a male/female.
Don't fuss. That's the challenge. A perfect example is the Siren character Josephine. She's played by a guy in real life, who has absolutely no interest in men whatsoever. Since he had to make a female, considering most or all his other characters are guys, he made it so that it'd be interesting and fun at the same time. He made her a lesbian. And so being a female siren he doesn't have to role play the part of taking a liking to other male characters.
He also made new powers acquired to sirens. That's another part of the challenge. Really developing the character itself. He used his creativity to create her ways of using her powers. When you think of sirens, you think of them singing and luring ships to be destroyed at rocks. This siren can phase into mist and float away at times, but it's still limited, taking away the ability to godmod. She gets her way a lot, but if she didn't what story would there be.
There are other creatures on the boards. What's their purpose?
Cyhyraeths, dwarves, giants, gnomes, goblins, imps, orgres, pygmies, trolls and vilas are our main villains. They disrupt peace if actual members do not in any matter. Recently the goblins invade the banshee's "Death Fest". And the trolls were rumored to be planning an attack on the humans.
There are activities/events?
Yes. There are events that take place such as the fauns feast of luprical, the banshee's death fest, the goblin invasion, and ghost busters. Every once in a while a thread will open up in a board for these events. Though it doesn't take away from the main stream RP, it's just another fun Rp to take place in. The dates of the event taking palce will always be broadcasted in the news fader at the top of the site. Soemtimes, only certain creatures are invited to events, so if your not invited you might be in grave danger.

Each board has a thread where the characters introduce themselves and tell about what the creature is. Those threads are stickied, always found at the top when you click on the board. Those threads you can also RP in. Though I encurage to vary how many you post in. Such as, feel free to post in the fairy board all the time with Meredith if you're a fairy, only go to the wizard tristan if you need him for something. The characters in each board will reply to you eventually. Sometimes they even take part in the other Rps.
There's only one human. Can I be human?
I guess so. Just ask if you wanna be a human. ^^
