Slow Going

Hi guys!

Yes, the title pertains to the requests I took... two weeks ago? Gosh, it must be pretty bad if I can't even remember. I'm so sorry! I managed to find time to complete Zuzu's request, but I still have A13's, Keba's, Haitaka's, and UK's requests to complete. Thank you guys for being so patient! I usually don't take this long!

I guess I shouldn't point fingers... I can't help feeling bogged down by homework and chores. I'm redoing my bedroom, so I had to move out all my furniture. Nearly dropped a glass shelf on my foot... but I didn't :D

Still, it's not right of me to take so long... I'll pull an all-nighter tonight and hopefully get two more done. One perk of patience is that they'll all be in high res (like Goofy Smile is) because my dad just bought a new scanner/printer that's super easy to operate! ~~No more using that ancient scanner that only works like half the time!~~ Yay technology!

One random thing...

I'm a huge Pokemon fan (which I don't know if you guys already knew, but anyways) and have played Pearl, SoulSilver, Black, Black 2, and Emerald (just a little bit)... for those of you with Black or White V2 that have the European release of the game (aka the one in English), you can receive a Keldeo via Nintendo WFC! The Keldeo Event just started today, so go to Mystery Gift and get yours soon! The event should last until February 12 (not 100% sure 'bout that date), so you have a couple weeks to nab this rare Pokemon (which was featured in Pokemon's 15th movie, Kyurem vs. the Sacred Sword)!

Requests Update

Hi guys! Sorry I'm posting late...

I've been really swamped this week, what with exams being every day but today (which I had off from school, yay!). I was studying pretty much every spare second I had, so unfortunately I didn't get to start on the requests. I'm sorry! I'll try to work on them tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday (which I also have off from school, yay!)

I do have reference images picked out already, though, so I should have them all ready really soon! Thank you all for being patient!

Art Process!

A brief overview of my art process:

Stage 1: Research
I usually go on Google and look for reference images to get a good idea of what I'm going to be drawing.

Stage 2: Sketching
Done on anything ranging from notebook paper to cardstock, just a few experimental sketches before trying to make a final product.

Stage 3: The Final Drawing
If I'm going to color it, I'll go ahead and use a fine line Sharpie and my magical "light table"--a glass-topped coffee table with a bright light underneath--to trace my final from my sketch.

Stage 4: Scanning (or to a lesser extent, taking a photo with my cellphone camera)
I try to aim for the scanner, but since I technically don't know how to use it, I must rely on my dad to help me submit my art.

Okay, so that's the brief overview. A slightly better explanation of how I did my Link Fanart that Jen requested:

Stage 1: Google a bunch of pictures of Link from Zelda.

Stage 2: Sketch a bunch of terrible pictures of Link based off the two reference pictures I chose.

Stage 3: Quickly attempt a better sketch... with my new Ticonderoga pencils that I have fallen in love with because they are awesome... and decide that I like the sketch enough to go directly to the final drawing using my light table. (More info on the actual fanart can be found in the fanart description.)

Stage 4: Turn my almost-dead cellphone on to take a picture, then connect it to my computer to crop and submit.

Hopefully deciding to use my cell camera wasn't a bad decision...

And, conveniently enough, the light I usually use for my light table broke right after I finished tracing. It was, of course, one of the most important parts--the swiveling head snapped into four nice little pieces. Of course, feeling bad for breaking an already-almost-broken lamp, I tried to superglue it back together... and nearly glued my fingers to the lamp.

*sighs* The things I do ~~for art~~ to be a good daughter.

Thanks to all you guys who take the time out of your day to read my weekly posts, and especially to those who comment! Knowing I reach somebody makes it worthwhile! ~~If only I didn't almost forget to post more than half the time... like the first week on hiatus b/c I remembered at like 11:55 or something Friday night. I'll get better at remembering.~~

Hopefully there will be some fun stuff (and more artwork) coming, as soon as I figure out a theme. I thought I'd do a crafting theme for a while, but I'm not so sure.

*lightbulb* Ooh, how about an Art Process theme? I can submit artwork at different stages of my process and explain how I go from basic idea to finished piece? ~~As soon as I get inspired lol~~

OOH! Even better idea! I'll take a request (just one because of the massive workload I've gotten shoved upon me, with exams coming up next week) from someone and show you the stages of my art process for their piece! Just so long as it's something I'm at least vaguely familiar with (or can research enough to be familiar with it)... ie please don't request something I've [probably] never heard of. But otherwise I'll take a request for anything! Fanart, eCard, fancomic, maybe a wallie if I can figure out how to make those... anything!

And remember... ONE request, so it's first-come-first-served!
