Beautiful Dream

Beautiful Dream
I ran through the tall forest around me, giggling as I remembered how my date had gone. I felt as if nothing could go wrong now. But just then, I heard a giggle other then my own. I turned quickly to find a creature. A human…with...wings. The creature was all black, even the human part of her was tinted black. The human form was beautiful, and full. Her face was round and most of it was taken up by big, round eyes. Even when her lips were pulled into a smile I could tell that they were in perfect proportion with the rest of her face.
She looked amused. But at the same time she looked disappointed, like I should recognize her from somewhere. Just then I noticed her wings. Each wing was bigger then the human figure all together. But they were not stable they were…dissolving. It was as if someone had poured water on dirt. Just then she reached forward for my hand. I took it. I felt like I could trust her.
The black creature looked like she was waiting for something. Probably waiting for my scream, I guessed. But I didn’t scream I smiled. She smiled at my response and then tightened her grip on my hand. Then she pulled me forward and kissed my forehead.
“Remember.” she whispered.
Just then a surge of sorrow poured through my veins. And then the pain came. Strong shooting pains concentrated on my shoulder blades as black wings poured out of them. And then we were flying, leaving a trail of the dust from out wings behind us. It felt as if all my troubles had vanished. But for some reason tears of sorrow were falling from my eyes. I looked at the creatures face and she, too, was crying. I wanted to ask why, but just then the woods opened up to a field, with my home in the middle of it. She let go of me and I fell to the ground, my wings had vanished.
I looked at her and she smiled weakly, “I can’t go any further.” She acted as if she was reminding me of something. Then she sighed and said, “Don’t let him take your memory again.”
I blinked and she was gone. I smiled and ran into my house. There were no cars in front of it, so I knew I was home alone. I ran into my room and climbed onto my dresser. I turned and faced my bed, which was only a few inches form me.
“I will not forget you, I will become a black-winged angel as well! I promise you!” I knew no one could hear me. I jumped onto my bed and smiled.
Yes, “Angels” That’s what I will call them. I didn’t realize how tired I was until my head was on my pillow. I fell asleep.
In my dream I was living with an older male, but for some reason he seemed to be afraid of me. Our house was separated into three areas. He had an extra area made a while ago so that he could rent it out, like he had for me. It was like a large tree house. You had to climb a large latter to get to the house, and it was all made of wood. I knew this place somehow. I knew the thick, dark forest around the house. I had been here. I had dreams of this place many times, but all the faces were blurry back then, and now I could see them all clearly. But I knew that this day was more then just a dream, it was a forgotten memory.
“Remember.” The black angel whispered into my dream. I began to walk forward and climbed the tall latter into the house. I was on my way to my part of the house when the man called my name. I turned too quickly and startled him. Why was this man so afraid of me?
“I rented out the other part of the house to a male about your age.” So he was around 15?
“Okay, thank you for telling me.” I said and then escaped into my room. A few moments later there was a knock on my door.
“Come in” I said. I expected the landlord but was surprised by a tall, young looking male, the new resident.
“Hello, My name is Jonathan Landon.” He said in a deep voice. He wasn’t 15, I knew this already.
“Hello, my name is Annabelle Nessa, but you can just call me Anna.” I hated my name everyone always pronounced it wrong.
“I know.” He said darkly. I knew that, that was meant to scare me, but it didn’t for some reason.
“Oh? Funny, I’ve never heard of you.” I said, matching the darkness in his voice perfectly.
He smiled without an ounce of kindness “That’s because you weren’t meant to.”
I glowered at him. Who was this idiot?
He left then, and I fell asleep shortly after.
I woke up then next day and went to school. When I came home something wasn’t right. He had changed something. I walked forward to the latter and the landlord tapped on my shoulder. How could I have not noticed him walk up?
“I’m sorry.” Was all he said.
“Huh?” I responded.
Then there was a sharp sound. A tree breaking? And then a circle of rope wrapped around my ankle and I flew upward. I stopped right in front of the window of the new resident. This was his doing.
He glared at me with a huge grin.
“Well, now. Where did that glare of yours go?” He said sharply.
“What the hell do you want?!” I screamed at him. My ankle was bleeding now; the rope was sharp and rough. Then I realized something. He knew what I was. He…was a hunter.
I felt the shock on my face.
“It seems you’ve figured it out on your own.” He said, darkly amused.
“How did you find me…?” I felt the fear building up in my heart.
“Simple, you went into town with a feather on your back.” He wasn’t serious he was making a joke.
I glowered at him once again. I knew he was going to try to get information out of me. He was going to try to get me to tell him of the others. I wouldn’t give in.
“You were actually quite difficult to find, until that friend of yours told me about you.” He said slightly amused.
He was lying he had to be.
“What was her name again? Ellie?”
Shit, he wasn’t joking.
I glared at him. If he hurt Ellie then I would kill him.
He laughed. “You intend to kill me? You’ll fail just like your friend did.”
I bit my lip; this could just be a trap. He might not have meant Ellie. But how did he find me otherwise?
“Silly little girl, your thoughts are connected with mine. You can read mine, just as I am reading yours. You understand don’t you?”
I felt shock in my face. He was the other. For every one of us, there is a human created at the same time. The two born together have an eternal bond. The two born at the same time are call each other “the other”. Their minds are either one in the same, or compete opposites. It seems my “other” was an opposite. Not only was he an opposite, but also he was a hunter. How disgusting.
“Why?” I asked.
He smiled at my apparently stupid question “Why not?”
