You seem to have stumbled across my Tales Updates, whether you meant to or not. Here, I give info on Namco-Bandai's Tales of RPG series, known for its real time battle system (the LMBS) and its animated cut scenes made by Production I.G. It all started on December 15, 1995 when Wolf Team's Tales of Phantasia was released for the Super Famicom in Japan. (Members of Wolf Team later broke off and made Star Ocean, but that's another story for another time.) With the development of the series' fifth game, Tales of Symphonia, Tales gained its own studio dedicated solely to making new games in the series.

Currently covering: Tales of Graces, Tales of Symphonia Tethe'alla Hen

ToV PS3 PV2

The second PV for the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia was added to the Japanese PlayStation Store. It shows off a few of the new features as well as three new hi-ougi:
Repede: Lightning Moment (ライトニングモーメント)
Estelle: Ultimate Elements (アルティメットエレメンツ)
Rita: Indignation (インディグネイション)

ToV Movie Site-Menu Added

Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~ site has updated finally giving a navigation menu (which, luckily for you, is in English).

  • Introduction
Gives a bit of background info on Tales and Production I.G. States the theme song for the movie will be BONNIE PINK's Kane wo Narashite (Japanese version of Ring a Bell), same as the game.

  • Story
Tells the basic story of the movie. Out of fear of misspelling terms that were in the game (and not wanting to spoil myself by looking it up), I'm steering clear of translating. I guess by now it's obvious I haven't so much as even been in the same room as a copy of Tales of Vesperia.

  • Character
Not open yet, but this is where character bios will go.

  • Staff/Cast
    Lists staff and voice talent.

  • Trailer
Gives download of any promotional footage

  • Theater
A list of theaters in Japan showing the movie

New Tales of VS Videos!

Okay, so the Tales of VS site's movie section finally put up the second PV. I removed the low quality one from my Tales of Festival post to put this one up.

Also, the Hamidashi Corner (the site it goes to when you click the little Nekonin Director guy) added a combo video for Richter and Kongman. And don't ask me where they got it, because I have no idea, but Abyssal Chronicles has a higher quality ToVPS3 box art up (I should ask Abby about that later).

Oh, and just because I'm such a little weirdo:

Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike Site Update

Site update. It now has a small version of the trailer shown at Tales Festival.

New Tales Scans-ToG Heroine, New To-VS characters, and some ToV PS3 info

Okay, some new Jump scans have surfaced and you know what that means. Yay, new info! I'm gonna start with the Tales of Vesperia port for the PS3 since it has the least interesting info.

The animated scenes are being redone to include Patty (I'm kinda hoping this means the syncing in the opening will be fixed). It also mentions a new Giganto Monster. The release date is set for September 17 and will cost 7,800 yen.

Now for Tales of VS. for the PSP.

New characters announced:
Lloyd Irving and Collet/Colette Brunel of Tales of Symphonia finally get their official announcement.
Senel Coolidge of Tales of Legendia
Kyle Dunamis of Tales of Destiny 2
Tear Grants of Tales of the Abyss
Rita Mordio of Tales of Vesperia (Blah blah blah!...I wish.)

And finally, Tales of Graces for the Wii.

Asbel's voice actor is Takahiro Sakurai. Furthermore, the heroine was announced not to be the pink-haired girl with the nice design everyone wanted it to be, but Purple-Haired Loli, instead. According to the scan, her name is something like Sophie (written in Katakana as ソフィ, official spelling and possibly more info like her age will probably come with Famitsu). She's voiced by Kana Hanazawa and apparently has no memories. In fact, Sophie or whatever isn't even her real name since Asbel gave it to her.
