This is the world where I talk about whats on my mind anime and manga wise.
Nabari no Ou is my fandom. ♥♥♥

Winter anime~~

This is what I wanna watch even though I haven't seen any of the fall season stuff I wanted to see yer because my speakers were out.

Durarara!: By the creators of Baccano!. Nuff said.
Sora no Woto: By the creator of K-on and Kannagi right? I'll give it a try as long as it's short.
Katanagatari: It looks very artsy, I like. c: No idea how it'll turn out though. Sounds like fun.

*tear tear*

Finally got to the ending of Aoi Hana. It worked out really well but it was so saaaad. ;________; This totally deserves a second season with moar FumixAkira.

Since my computer got back up and running I haven't had any sound coming out of my speakers. Therefore I haven't been able to watch any anime and it's driving me absolutely insane. DDD: Idunno, maybe it's good for me. I just read some angstalicious fanfiction though and now I'm bawing all over the place and going to draw emo things. :)

critique? or rant? :D

So I read the first volume of Nabari no Ou in english. Obviously I have things to say.

First of all, I love Yen Press. I love the way they do business. Let's take a looksy at the other publishers.
CMX: Well I only read one of their series and I can't remember so I'm not judging them.
Del Rey: They keep a lot of the Japanese, that's all I remember from what I've read of them. Very good.
Viz: EDITS ART. END OF STORY.
Tokyo Pop: Ughhhh. They take on too much, I find their releases slow, the website is a MESS. The translations are good but there are a few things I didn't like too much about them.

Now Yen Press. asdfghjkl; their so fan friendlyyyyyy. *omnomnom* writing in paragraphs is too much for me, I like to bullet things. xD

  • They have posters in the magazine, I'm hoping for some good ones. :DDD
  • They take submissions if you want to get published. None of this Rising Stars of Manga crap.
  • They took some good titles. I kinda see that they're taking series that people who read other series of theirs would also like. Like Nabari, Kuroshitsuji and Pandora Hearts has the mostly the same readers, except for me. I predict that they pick up Karneval next.
  • They read all the comments they get and take them to heart!
  • They changed the cover of Spice and Wolf to help it sell better in America and included the original cover in the magazine to slip over the book. People are complaining all over the place and I think it's genius. It's a good marketing strategy and the fans still get the cover! What's there to complain about?

Yeah, heart Yen Press. So the things I have to say about the manga I got right here:

  • All the sfx are kept where they are with the Japanese romanization and English translation next to it. In all honesty, I don't mind when the sfx are just erased and replaced, but this is a good thing from a fan's point of view.
  • The first page is in color. YESSSSS
  • There are no advertisements for their other series in the back. YESSSSS
  • "Rokujou" wasn't spelled "Rokujo" like I know it would be in like, Viz. They kept all the "ou"s. YESSSSS
  • "Tobari" wasn't spelled "Thobari" like the official spelling.
  • They kept most of the Japanese words, including some odd ones like the word for bonito fish... but they translated Kairoshuu to Grey Wolves. This will bother me forever.
  • There's a preview for the next volume at the end? I don't get it. It seems like a waste of pages to me. You're going to see them later anyway.

So overall I'm very satisfied. :) I hope Yen Press gets more good stuff like, oh I dunno, Shimura Takako?

yesyesyes

FREAK YEAH WE GOT NABARI ADS UP ON OTAKU. SEPTEMBER 22 BABY I CAN'T WAIT.
Well actually I can, I'm gonna see if parts one and two are sold together eventually.
