Ok so the other day I watched The Golden Compass and having read the book and compared the two in my mind I decided to make a review.
Summery: The Golden Compass is about a magical world where people's souls are out of their bodies and are animals called daemons. One girl Lyra gets her slef mixed up in an adveture dealing with children kidnappers and a magical golden compass.
Positives:
Over all the movie was great! It match up almost perfectly to the book and the characters matched up brilliantly as well. Nicole Kidman was fantastic! I was really impressed with the great effects and the great acting. I was even impressed about how they changed the "evil" church in the book to the government(sending out a message maybe?)so that it wouldn't hurt religous people.
Negitives:
They removed a few small things here and there which is not too important and I could live with that.
BUT.
They did the worse thing EVER!!!
They cut out like the last three chapters of the book from the movie!!!
The movie ends with Lyra saying, "We'll help my Dad acomplish his goal. I know it." (or something like that) Then it ends. Just ends.
Maybe they were setting up for a sequel you say, but the book already sets it up for a sequel. Maybe it would have been too long you say. Well then they could have cut down the two fight scenes that went on for 10 minutes.
Even though fight scenes are exciting the ending to the book is WAY more exciting than the two fight scenes.
Ok, so over all this was a pretty good movie, if you like the book and don't really care if the whole ending is gone then I say go ahead and watch it. If you have not read the book I suggest you read it or go see the movie.

Ok so I was not on at all yesterday cause I was practicing like crazy for a speech I had to give on Rascal Flatts.
I was freaking out cause I was having trouble memorizing it.
Then I had an emotional break down because.....
I'm not very good a public speaking.....
I get super nervous and when I'm nervous I talk reeeeaaaalllyyyy fast.....
Then I feel faint and sick and will start stummbling over my word.
I'm perfect at home in front of my family and perfect in front of my friends, but as soon as i get in front of a large group I freak.
The worse part was my mom was not there to help me(still is not here) cause she had a work conferance thing like all the way across the USA!!!
I missed her and had no confidence in myself....
I was crying and over all freaking out.
So....Today I gave my speech. I talked fast, but still made it in the time limit.
Yay!
But I got a B......
*sigh*
Oh well.
In other GOOD news I got an A in Spanish for my final grade. (we had our final today)
But I think i bombed my Heath Final....
*shrugs*
Only two more finals left!
Then it's summer!!!!

I was sitting outside yesterday and felt something on my arm.
I toughed it and brought back blood on my hand.
I thought I killed a bug or scratched open a scab, but my mother told me I was stung....

In other news I got my Silver Award(girls scouts) on Sunday! Yay!
I got cake.... Mmmmmm cake.....
Oh and today during history my teacher gave me a letter inviting me and this other boy in my class to come to a lunch thing.
It's for students who the teachers favor for being good and participating in class.
I'm only going for the free, and not nasty(our school lunches)food.
BTW, I've been meaning to post more of my fan fic, but have been lazy and forgetful.
So, I'll try to post more tomorrow.

Ok I'm in pain cause the other day my sister had a jazz band concert at my mother's office.
Well, we had to carry a bunch of stuff there, like amps(for the bass and guitar) and drums.
Bozo-kun, made me carry this large amp in. It was HEAVY!
I thought my arms were going to fall off!!!
That's why they hurt today.....
We're reading Romeo and Juilet in English right now...

Oh in history we are learning about WWII ok?
so, we were talking about the Allies(GB and France) wanting to join forces with the USSR.
She asked, "When Hitler heard this what do you think he did?"
This one kid said "Invaded France?"
I said, "Tried to form an alliance with the USSR."(I had read ahead...)
I was right and the kid in front of me said," Man she thinks like Hitler! Maybe she is his great grandaughter!"
my teacher said, "Yeah, and ~~~~ you better watch yourself! She sits behind you and you wouldn't know what she's doing!"
I was dying of laughter!
