Prologue
Blood Seven
Blood Seven takes place a mere 4 years after Saya was taken back to her ‘birth place’ in Okinawa by Kai Miyagusuku. Within the span of those 4 short years, the trial of Cinq Fleches’ head scientist, Van Argiano had taken place with him being sentenced to life in prison. Key evidence came from Archer, a close assistant of Van Argiano who was actually an undercover agent sent to gather evidence to convict Van Argiano and bring down the Cinq Fleche pharmaceutical company. Even with the elimination of Cinq Fleches pharmaceuticals, a small group split before the company's top executives were convicted and sent to prison. It comes to no surprise that not all the top executives within the company were caught. A few snuck away with material that was later scheduled to be destroyed. Some of this material was infamous research on Delta 6-7 along with statistics and data drawn from the Corpse Corp combat groups.
With the erasure of Cinq Fleches, the small group of scientists and executives formed a new group called Phoenix International. Phoenix International established itself as a humanitarian aid organization that provided medical care and hospitals to regions ailing from disease, famine, and other adverse health effects. Establishing itself as an American based organization, Phoenix International had little trouble growing and expanding out across the world, gaining charitable donations for their work and research. Issued to the public and press, Phoenix International is a non profit organization for the elimination of imperfections in the human immune system. All donations directly purchase medicines or help fund research to further science and medicine for any area under Phoenix International aid.
Unbeknownst to the public, the organization had once again developed its hidden research and development facilities that have become scattered across the world. Some are hidden underneath layers of rock while others are in plain site, camouflaged to the public eye as hospitals, museums, and the like. The experiments continue on tirelessly as a ever growing number of individuals are collected to perform tests under the guise of medical treatment for their sicknesses. A new underground research lab developed by Phoenix International had been established underneath what used to be the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, the same site where the U.S. military had bombed the numerous Chiropterans during the fiasco that became known as Argiano’s Folly in the Phoenix International administration. Top executives have named their latest ‘investment’ in New York City, P-Lab 1. Equipment unlike any other had been requisitioned for use which has raised a few eyebrows within even the highest ranking officials within Phoenix International. Rumors and outbreaks of mass hallucinations have occurred within weeks of the new facility’s construction from personal stationed at P-Lab 1. There had even been a report of a suicide of one scientist in the facility. Witnesses say that the man babbled about voices in his head and seeing blood drenched walls and people. The scientist was later found in his office, collapsed on the ground with a massive crack in his own skull. Work continues within P-Lab 1 as more and more personal are transferred out and new personal transferred in.
The Red Shield continues towards its goal of eliminating Chiropterans by hunting down the missing research and experiments that remain unaccounted for after the disbandment of the Cinq Fleches Pharmaceutical Company. Under orders from David, Kai remains vigilant over Saya as she sleeps away while raising the two sisters named Luna and Sol. Lulu lives along with Kai as he continues to teach her about human life. On a weekly basis, the last remaining Schiff receives treatment from the fruits of Julia’s research. Each year has brought her closer to fully eliminating the cause and threat of the thorn for the last of her kind. Time passes slowly as Phoenix International moves under the shadows of the public eye. What will become of the world?
