Kakihara (Tadanobu Asano) is a sadomasochist yakuza, when his boss, Anjo, disappeared he believes that he is kidnapped and not dead. His investigation turns violent as he torture his suspects. He then learned of the killer, Ichi (Nao Omori), beliving that he is a totally sadist. But Ichi is not, normally he is cowardly. Ichi is hypnotized after he killed his own parents. He then turned violent everytime he is reminded of a false memory.

The movie is filled of gore and violence. The story is alright I really thought the movie is about the "Ichi" the killer but it was actually about Kakihara and his sadistic ways. The actors were good, I really wouldn't see Ichi as a killer especially when he cries. Thier boss made me laugh as few times cause of the way he walks and move.
This is probably the most disturbing movie I've seen in my opinion because of the torture scenes. Seeing gore movies all the time doesn't disgust me as much anymore but in this movie I can't believe rape is isn't enough. There was this scene with the prostitute that they raped and tortured. The way they tortured her was just too much! Seriously...
But since this movie mostly revolves around Kakihara's quest to find Ichi, it made me a curious about Ichi. In the movie it is said that he killed his parents. I'm wondering if it's accidental or accidental. And how did he become that strong? I have more question about Ichi's past... Thank goodness there's a prequel! I'll go watch it as soon as I find an online streaming... ^_^

The movie is shot beautifully though some scenes looks like it's been shot from a studio, especially that river scene. But one thing though that distracts me is the bad english, unfortunately its in english and the actors were Japanese so I couldn't understand some of the lines.
Also Billy Drago's acting kinds of distracts me as well, cause I've seen some of the movies he starred in and it's all good except for this one. I read in one YouTube comment that he looks like he is drunk, which I kind of agreed (too much SAKE perhaps?).
When I watched it on YouTube, all of the gore scenes were cut, which is annoying and made me buy a copy (seriously none of my friends likes this kind of movies). The torture scene is intense!
This movie is episode no. 13 of the first season of Master of Horror. I read in Wikipedia that it was supposed to air on cable but due to the disturbing scenes (those scenes that was cut on YouTube) it went straight to video.

I became a fan of Ken'ichi Matsuyama after he played the role of "L" in the Death Note movies. And seeing his profiles I read that he has played a variety of roles. In this movie he played a shy sweet guy then a demon rock star the next, it was awesome to watch. The exageration of his acting made me laugh a lot. And I can't believe he sang in this one too! He just too awesome. Reminds me a lot of Johnny Deep who has played a variety of roles as well.
The music used in this movie is good too. Especially the pop songs they are really catchy like Sweet Lover and Raspberry Kiss. It's not the kind of songs I usually listen to but its really catchy it made me dance a bit! ^_^ I'm more of a rock music girl so I really enjoyed the metal music too.
Gene Simmons (Kiss) also made a cameo appearance too as Jack IL Dark also known as The Emperor.

うずまき (Spiral)
Kirie Goshima lives in a town called Kurôzu-cho. The citizens of that town slowly became obessed with spiral patterns. This obessesion lead them to transform into something more than human, leading them to thier disturbing death.
The movie progression was slow and in the end I just felt unsatisfied and left some questions. The acting lead me more questions. Some of the actors were good but some were acting a little too much while some were unsatisfying. I don't know if it's intentional but you'll definetely recognize it. I like the music used in this, very hypnotizing I must say…
I think I should read the manga or something... I think there should be more.

Aoyama Shigeharu (Ryo Ishibashi) is a middle aged widower, he lost his wife to an illness 7 years ago. His son (Tetsu Sawaki) urged his to remarry again. He and his friend, Yoshikawa (Jun Kunimura) held an Audition, so Aoyama could meet a girl for him to marry. In the mock audition Aoyama became interested with Asami Yamazaki, a 24 year old soft spoken woman. But though she is reserved and seems to be the ideal woman, she hides a dark secret.
The movie started real slow, I was bored cause I guess I wanted to watch this film because of the gore. But though it started like that you would understand the characters better. This is another one of those films that are really confusing that you can’t help but watch again. And the scenes were really disturbing, it was the first time I kind of felt uneasy watching a gore film.
The some of the scenes are really disturbing. There is a bit of nudity and sexual content too so please be warned.
