How to draw a basic Dragon Head

Hey everyone!

I'm glad I'm finally able to post on this world! Don't worry a profile about me (Ellen) will come soon, but tutorial first since I just can't wait :P

I've had a fascination with dragons for a long time. I still remember my first dragon which was in 2006. For you guys I made a basic dragon tutorial on how to draw a head, with an S-shape neck (love long dragon necks :P).

1. Draw a circle
2. Draw it's snout. Mine is usually stubby and short. Also a triangular shape works well to make it pointy.
3. Add an eye. Make sure it looks good, I find that eyes are very important in a drawing.
4. Draw a S-line which would be the middle/center of the dragon's neck
5. Make the outlines of the neck
6. Add a circle for its cheek and one or more circles for where you want to 'attach' the horns.
7. Draw the horn and spikes or frills behind the cheek for decoration. Plus remove the middle line of the neck, the one you drew in point 4.
8. Make a line for the mouth touching the circle of the cheek. Add a line for the front neck scales.
9. Draw in the front neck scales and add some spikes for the frills on the dorsal side.
10. Finish the frills with a nice s-curve or c-curve. Whatever you find pretty.

Here are some of my old artwork as an example:

I hope this was useful and I might add a sheet with different variations of the frills, eyes, snout, etc.
