WOAH!!!!! Elric-chan!! this is so brilliant!!! I really enjoyed reading this post of yours, it had so many points and was so fun to read... now I'm inspired! AND MAN!! I use Paint tool SAI program and I ALWAYS forget to 'up' the resolution =_= Just had to do it for my past digital painting and I just feel so disappointed when I forget and end up painting on a teeny page without even noticing. So thats a really good point! and I love your perspective on improving!! Thats exactly how I felt when I joined theO! and its helped me SO much, I would never have been able to draw anything had I not gotten feedback and set my goals high enough... So I'm really glad that you took requests and are so focused on getting better, cuz if there's a will theres a way and you definitely are skilled! in traditional AND digital! :D
I do save as PNG, mostly because when I save drawings in Photoshop as JPEGs and try to submit, it says it's not a valid image.
You never know... I didn't expect people to want me to draw stuff for them, but they did. And I ended up taking over a month just to do five. Otakus in general are patient, and they won't mind if you take your time.
I think you should also save as png for better work. Jpeg may lower the file size but that's cause it degrades quality. So the better the quality, the higher the file size.
I was thinking of doing that free event thing, but I don't know if people would want me to do stuff for them x3
I wish I had more free time. I have to juggle school and work ;3;
What I do in Photoshop is import my drawing in a higher resolution and when I'm done touching it up, I go to "Save for Web and Devices". Then it saves a file at a resolution of 72. I usually post the one with the 72 resolution on sites and keep a high resolution version saved on my computer. I add "_lowres" to the file name of the 72 resolution one to tell the difference.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
Resolution should be at 300~ its best kept there. C: that's standard for printing for best quaility, and its a good habit to always set it at 300. 72 is for web, but not best for digital coloring.~

That's weird, I'm not sure why it does that.
I guess I'll give it a shot! Here's to hoping that they like my stuff!

Okay. I'll save it like that next time I do a drawing in Photoshop and see how it turns out.

So, when I'm drawing, do I draw at 300 and then save a copy at 72 when I submit?
