Chapter 1 - Behind Locked Doors.

Remember Changes may be made and reposted...

Chapter 1 - Behind Locked Doors

The building looked completely empty, but Kyrai knew from his past the looks can certainly be deceiving. He further approached, mapping the outside of the building for reference in his head. He thought he heard a noise from the inside, but it may easily have been his imagination.
Desolate for at least a mile, there was no one out in this place, which could have been the reason for the erie look of the place. Stories in town of a building the had become haunted, or infested with what only god knows had taken over, and people were afraid, or unwilling, to come out to a place such as this.
Kyrai had heard them all. Every story willing to be told. Even he could have started to believe, but his mind kept sight on the truth. He knew what had come to this place and he knew he had to find out why.
There were two metal doors leading in at the entrance to the building. Kyrai placed a hand on the left door and gave it a shove. As it slowly creeked open, he was over-taken by an awful stench. The smell of something rotting.
"God, this place has death written all over it." Kyrai said to himself with a smirk.
He put half a foot inside and peeked inside. A couple of rats scurried off, avoiding the light that they had been exploited to. The bottom floor of the building came into sight. It looked as if it was, or used to be, a lobby of an office or important structure. It was obvious to anyone that it had not been used in a long while, chairs and papers were strung about in no order, and there was a table that had been flipped on its side.
"This is an absolute mess," Kyrai said. "I guess nobody thought of cleaning up before abandoning the place."
He quickly glanced up at the ceiling, hearing, what to him, sounded like footsteps. Someone's here. He froze, listening to the path they took above him. The sound past over the top of him, and continued on a few feet before stopping and hearing a door slam shut. Kyrai walked the bottom floor of the building, keeping his eyes peeled for sight of any movement.
Coming to a door with a sign that read Staircase, he paused. He pushed the door open, revealing a square spiral staircase leading up to the next two floors of the building. Light faded half way up to the second floor. Kyrai pulled out his lighter, and lit it attempting to get a glance upward. The light let him see about to the second floor. Nothing special just a door leading to that level. He continued up the stares.
He walked slowly letting his eyes adjust to the little light that he had. He reached the second floor and the door leading into it. He cltuched the knob of the door and gave it a turn letting the door release, then pushed it opening. As the light flooded in he was able to see a hallway with three doors on either side, and one door at the end. Kyrai walked the hallway examining the doors and the names listed on them. K. Wallas. T. Marshall. H. Taylor. Businessmen is what came to mind. This used to be an office of some sort.
As he walked the smell he had first experienced returned into the air. This time much stronger. He continued on pushing his elbow sleeve into his nose trying to keep the smell away. He finally reached the end of the hall, the smell becoming unbearable. There was no doubt that whatever was inside there was causing it.
Kyrai prepared himself for what might be in the door. He reached down and grabbed his Blood Maiden, the gun his father had given him when he turned sixteen, just before he died. It was a majestic silver color, not a flaw in it smooth, but solid. There was an incryption on the side of the gun saying Love Protect Cherish. Kyrai had always held these words dear to him as a finally goodbye from his father.
He pulled back the gun, cocking it for a strike. Then, took a deep breath before kicking the door and pointing the gun straight locked for whatever might be inside.
Terror struck Kyrai's face. He lowered his weapon and stared in total awe. The walls blood stained, pictures flung about, an utter chaotic feeling was left within the room. In the center of it all was a pile of dead men, all had been wearing business suits. Kyrai closed his eyes, and reopened them making sure he wasn't imagining what his eyes saw. He took a deep breath before finally relaxing with the realization of what was in front of him.
He took a few moments and gathered himself together. Then he began to walk around the room. He closely checked the men and the walls, trying to get details of what could of happened in this room. He took a wallet from one of the men's pockets. Arthur Kimori. Age 42. Single. He placed the wallet back into the mans pocket, and grabbed another. Justin Galloway. Age 38. Single. Kyrai examined several I.D.'s before coming to an awful realization. All the men were unmarried. This explained why family hadn't come looking for them when they didn't show up from work.
As Kyrai rose from the heap, he was greatly startled when he heared a door slam shut, coming from the hallway. He stepped out of the room and in shock, he looked over to see a woman standing at the entry way of the hall.

End.

Release...

I'm typing up the first chapter in my book right now and I will be posting it on here in a little bit. Take a look at it and tell me how it is!

Seconds.

Well I've started working on my second chapter of my book. Funny thing I still haven't thought up a title yet. After reading the first chapter when its released sometime soon maybe give some title suggestions. I was thinking about naming the book after my world Anything and Everything. Its kind of catchy but I'm not sure yet. Let me know what you think!
