Claire falls into a deep sleep at Toby’s shoulders then Toby carries Claire at his back and went home. At his way at Claire’s house a group of boys blocked his way and Toby has a bad feeling about them. The leader of this gang asks Toby;
“Hey boy, if you’re going to pass here, you have to pay us. My brothers and I were starving; maybe you could give us some money.”
“I’m sorry guys but I don’t have money. I left wallet at home. Excuse me.” replied Toby.
“Hey, we’re not yet done here. Well what do we have here, a cute little doll.” “Don’t touch her!” “It looks like you’re her boyfriend, why don’t you give her to us of you don’t want any trouble.” “Stay away from us!”
Then Jana suddenly came driving her car. “Toby, get in!” When the gang was about the attack Toby, he ran at the car of Jana then Jana went out there as fast as possible. “Toby what are you doing?” “We’re just going to pass there until they block my way. Thank you for saving us.” “How’s Claire?” Toby was a little bit shock that Jana was concern already with regards Claire. “She’s fine now, I think.” “I saw her this afternoon crying then she bumped to me. She was in a hurry at the roof top and oh she dropped this.” Jana gave Toby the necklace of Claire. It was the necklace that Satoshi gave to Claire. “Did something happen to Claire?” “I don’t know, I’m not sure, I don’t know how I could help her.” Then the cell phone of Claire rings then Toby answer it;
“Hello?” “Hello, who is this?” “It’s me, Toby.” “Oh what happen to Claire? Does her fever gets even higher?” “Fever, Claire was sick?” “Yes, Rick and I are not around in three weeks. Please take care of our daughter, is it ok to you?” “Ok, I’ll do it. Is there was medicine at you house Mrs. Karen?” “I gave Claire a medicine this morning, as long as I recall, she put it at the top of her desk. Thank you for helping us Toby. Oh by the way, Claire left her keys so I hide it, it is found at the second window at the right. Please take of Claire and thank you very much.”
“No problem, don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” Toby hangs up the phone; “Hey Toby, I’m sorry to you and to Claire.” “It’s alright; she’ll forgive you for sure.”
Toby took Claire, went down at Jana’s car, and thanks her for helping them. This proves that Jana change her traits towards Claire but why? Maybe she knew something or what so ever. Meanwhile, Toby already found the keys and enter the house, he went at the living room place Claire there. “It seems her fever gets even higher”

Satoshi was the president of the Science club. He was called to assist the members for the preparation for the coming program. Meanwhile, Claire was on her way at Satoshi to tell him how she feels for him. When Claire reaches the meeting room of the science club, she heard the conversation of Satoshi and Sara, Satoshi asked Sara; “Hey Sara, You don’t have any boyfriend right?” “Huh? Why all the sudden? Why did you ask that to me?” “Well sorry for being rude. Just forget it.” “No it’s ok, I don’t have any boyfriend.” “Are you sure you don’t have a boyfriend? You’re so beautiful and yet you don’t have one? So, can I be your first boyfriend?” “Are you serious? But… well, sure. I’ve always want to be with you Satoshi. I thought that you hate me and you want Claire.” “No, you got it all wrong, Claire was just my best friend and I will not ask her to be my girlfriend. You are the one I always love. I came back here because I want to be your boyfriend. And now, I’m yours.” “I thought you came back because of you want to protect Claire from me.” Then Satoshi suddenly hug Sara so tight and that’s the time when Claire was going onside the room and she suddenly said; “So, that’s the truth huh? Well there’s nothing that I can do. By the way Satoshi, Toby wants you to have this for the program. I’m sorry for interrupting. You broke your promise. Excuse me.” “Wait Claire…!” “Claire was running with tears at her eyes, she went back the classroom and took her things. Toby was wondering why did Claire act like that so he came after her and try to figure out what did just happened. Toby can’t stand went Claire was crying, it seems that he’s feeling a pain while seeing Claire crying. Claire went at the roof top and crying a bit loud. She was trying to hide it but she can’t hide the way she feels when she heard it, until she starts the cough again and again and then a blood went out. Toby saw some blood at the floor then he immediately went at Claire and took his handkerchief. “Claire, it’s too much blood this time, did you bring any …..” Then Claire suddenly hugged Toby. “Toby he hates me, he always hates me. He came back because of Sara, he came back for Sara, he came back not because that he wants to protect me back for Sara. I hate myself, I’m not beautiful enough, I’m ugly, I have an illness, I’m nothing for him. I want to die now!” “Claire, I’m, I’m sorry, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t…” “No, it’s ok Toby. Now I know that he doesn’t want me. Toby” “What is it?” “Please stay with me for a little bit longer. Promise is just an empty word. Satoshi promise that he’ll be back for me but he lied. So don’t promise that you will stay with me for a little longer but please, stay.” Then Toby hugs Claire and a single tears drop from the eye of Toby. Claire slowly stops in crying and fall into a sleep.
From what Claire just said that she loves Satoshi, Toby was jealous at that time. That means that he loves Claire. When they’re almost there, Claire said to Toby; “Please come in. Mom and dad will be happy to see you for the first time.” “Huh? Your parent knows me?” “Yeah, they want to thank you for taking care of me while Satoshi is not around. They are so excited to see you.” The both of them arrive at the house safe. Claire calls her mother and father, Claire let Toby sit at the sofa. “Mom, Dad!! Toby’s here!” “Oh welcome Claire, did you have fun?” “Yup, by the way, this is Toby, Toby my mom. “ “Nice too meet you Toby. Sorry about the childishness of my daughter, don’t tell me she grab you to buy some ice cream?” then Toby replied; “Um well yes. But it’s ok; I often see her real smile.” Then Rick came out of the bath room, soaked. “Hello Toby, I’m his father, just call me Rick ok?” “Ok sir, I mean Rick.” “Good!” “Dad, you better go up and dressed up first.” “Sorry Claire. Morning, Toby was still thinking about Claire. He can’t stop in thinking for her. Since Claire said that she loves Satoshi, Toby has decided to help Claire even it does hurts. At the school, Toby was walking at the corridor when he saw Jana passing by; “Jana, I know you planned to injure Claire, I knew it at the very first even Satoshi didn’t told me. Why did you do that to Claire?” “I’m sorry Toby, I was just going to scare her and I was out of control already when I bump to you. I’m sorry.” “Say sorry to Claire.” Toby was going away then Jana said to him; “Wait! Please don’t tell this to anyone else. Please…” Jana bows at Toby; “Just leave Claire alone. Then Toby went at the room. He saw Claire so energetic. “Good Morning Toby!!!” “Oh good morning Claire, it seems you got a very good day today huh?” “Yup, I made something especial to you and Satoshi.” During the class hour, Claire was active. Toby said to his mind; “Wow, she’s a very strong girl. It doesn’t look like she’s sick. Claire looks like strong. But I knew, deep within that smile at her face, she feels the pain. Nobody knows about her sickness except me, Satoshi and Dr. Ryuuki. It looks like without her, my life, my day is incomplete. Does it mean I do really love her so much?”
The bell rings and all of the students were on their way at the canteen to eat their lunch. Claire calls Toby and Satoshi then invite them at the roof top. When they got there; “Look I made some maki and some Japanese food. My mother thought me how to make one last, last, last year. And look Satoshi, I used the bento you gave me.” “Well I’m glad you used it.” “Hey Claire, this is good! Would you make another one for me tomorrow lunch?” “Ok! I’m so happy you like it. By the way, I’m so sorry for being a big burden to you. I’m sorry that I didn’t tell about my sickness to you guys. I just made more worried and angry.” “It’s ok, I’m the one who should be sorry for yelling at you.” said Satoshi. “Yeah, you should be sorry for doing it to her. I made her cry especially she loves you.” said Toby at his mind.
Later on, almost dismissal time, Sara called for Satoshi for the preparation for the coming Science exhibit tomorrow. Satoshi went at the meeting room and fixed the things that must be done. Toby said to Claire when Satoshi was not already around; “Claire, why you didn’t tell him this morning? Why you didn’t confess your feelings to Satoshi?” “Well… I… I don’t have a gut to tell it to him. I’m scared for his reaction. What if he doesn’t like me?” “Why don’t you give it a try? What if it was an opposite of your thoughts?” “Well, maybe your right. Ok! I’ll do it. Thank you Toby, you’re the biggest help and you’re my greatest best friend ever! Bye!” “Ok, good luck! Hey wait, today is your duty in cleaning the classroom!” “I’ll do it tomorrow, is it ok? I got to go bye!” “Oh great, I don’t know why girls are so strong.” Toby cleans the room with the other students for Claire and then Claire went at the meeting room at once.
Sunday, Claire was free from Toby. She had a chance to enjoy her day. It was a very beautiful day for her. She went down and starts to help her mom to ready the breakfast. “Good morning dad.” “Hey morning Claire” said Rick; “It seems that you have a very nice day today huh Claire?” “Yup, I can enjoy my day without Toby.” Then Karen laughs and said to her daughter; “Maybe you’re in love Claire or Toby loves you.” Claire was shock and her face turned red, Rick giggles and said; “Do you want to go out and have fun? You can go anywhere but you have to get back in 6:00pm if you want to.” “Really!” “Sure dear, you can have a trip. Just be careful ok.” said Karen. So Claire takes a bath and dressed up.
When she was on her way at the mall, she saw Toby and Toby saw her. So she turns her back and run away. “Hey Claire, wait!” “Don’t follow me!” Then Claire suddenly feels a pain then cough. She stops a coughs continuously until she coughs a blood again. Toby didn’t the blood because Claire was keeping on covering her mouth and hides her handkerchief where the blood is. “Hey are you alright? I’m sorry I was just trying to give you this.” Claire was still coughing until it stops slowly. She looks at Toby’s hands. It was the necklace that Satoshi gave to her. “Sorry but I found this the day when the incident happened. I remember that Satoshi gave you a necklace that looks like this, so I returned it to you. Is it your necklace?” “Yes. That’s the necklace I’ve been searching. Thank you Toby, I thought seeing you make my day worse.” Toby smiles and said; “Hey not that worse” and then the both of them laughs. “Claire, why are you going out alone? I think its fun to enjoy the day with friends right?” “Well I’m used to it. I sometimes went out alone. Do you want to come with me?” “Sure” So the both of them walk together and have fun.
They went at the park. Claire loves ice cream so she took some money at her pocket and went at the ice cream shop. Toby stayed behind until he saw the handkerchief of Claire. Claire didn’t notice that her wallet feel on the ground. Toby saw a blood at the handkerchief. The blood was still fresh and he recalls that Claire’s cough was a bit different. Toby hides the handkerchief then Claire came back enjoying her ice cream. “Is it good?” “Yeah, you should try one. The cookies and cream were great. You should try one.” “Um… well, no. Maybe I’ll just try it next time.” “Oh come on. It’s great! Come on I’ll buy you one.” “No it’s ok Claire.” Claire grabs the hands of Toby and Toby’s face turned into red. He said on his mind; “This is the first time that a girl holds my hand. Her hand was warm. Maybe she’s…” Then Claire suddenly faints. Toby slaps her face and he was trying to wake her up. Toby brought her at the hospital.
Satoshi was there at the hospital. Satoshi asked; “What happened!? Claire, let’s take her at my uncle’s office!” Satoshi was so worried about Claire. “Toby, what happened to her?” “She was just eating an ice cream. She was enjoying it. She told me that the ice cream was good. I don’t want to buy so she insists me. She said that she will buy it for me. She drags me there then she suddenly faints. I brought her here because her cough before was different and she was warm. Is she going to be alright?” “I’m not sure, Claire you still never tell us the suffering you feel.” The both of them were so worried about Claire. The exam was done. When Dr. Ryuuki was going to explain, Toby recalls the handkerchief of Claire. Toby ask; “Dr. Ryuuki, is this blood have something to do with Claire? She coughed so different and it seems like she felt too much pain. I just remember it now. Is there something to do with this?” “We have to test this blood. My diagnosis was that Claire might have Tuberculosis. I must take an X-ray and a blood test.” “Does she have to pay? I’ll pay the half uncle.” “No it’s ok Satoshi, you don’t have to pay.” Claire wakes up and then stands. Toby notice her so he run to her and said; “Please stay still. Rest for awhile.” “So, you knew it already?” Then suddenly asked her; “Why did you hide this from us? You should tell this to us!” “I’m sorry; I just don’t want to be a burden.” “You don’t have to shout at her.” Then Claire starts to cry a little. “I – I want to go home now.” “Ok, I’ll come with you.” said Toby. Satoshi was a little bit guilty.
At their way home, they went down from Satoshi’s service. Then Claire said to Toby; “I’m so sorry Toby, I just want to keep it secret. I want the last expense to me will be for my death.” Toby suddenly stops on walking. “Why? Why do you want to die?” “I don’t want to be a burden to my parents. I want them to be happy.” “If you die, they will be sad.” “Well at least I knew that they love me always. They are the only person who loved me always. And it seems that Satoshi was starting to hate me.” “You’re wrong, he loves you so much. He was so worried about you. You said that he was you only best friend ever since.” “Well I love Satoshi. But I don’t know how I should say this to him.” Toby feels a pain from his heart. He was hurt from what did Claire said. Toby said to her; “We have to keep on going, it seems you’re going to have a fever.” Toby still feels the pain. Claire doesn’t know why Toby’s action suddenly changes.
Claire was so worried about what just happened to Toby but she still feels the arms of Toby around her body to protect her. While she was thinking that, her face turned into red, she feels something very unusual. “What does it mean?” said Claire. Satoshi remember when Toby hugs Claire to protect her, that action made him jealous.
Morning, Claire went at the house of Toby to if everything is still alright. Claire was shock that Toby was still going at the school in his situation. Claire wants him to stay and have a rest and then Toby said to her; “Why? Do don’t want me to guard you again? What if something happened to you again?” “You don’t have to do that; I can take care of myself.” Then Toby was starting to tease Claire. “Oh so you can take care of yourself, then why you didn’t notice the car coming huh?” “Uh, w-well, I…” “HAH! I know why, you want me to hug you didn’t you?” “WHAT!!! S-STOP THAT NONSENCE, I-I EVER WANT YOU TO DO THAT!!! FINE! I’M GOING AT THE SCHOOL.” Claire turns her back and her face was red again. She said in her mind; “That fool, I’ve ever want him to hug me. Besides the only person I hugged was Satoshi but there was nothing about it. It was just a hug of a friend. But this Toby, he thinks I want the hug, no way.” So Claire and Toby walk at the school together. They were now at the school together. When they got there, Claire suddenly had a cough then she went at the comfort room. She coughed again then a blood came out. Claire had no idea what’s happening to her. She decided not to tell this to anyone.
As the president of the student council, Toby still does his part for the coming program. It seems that Satoshi and Toby is out of idea for the program. Yesterday, Claire was at the library to have some helpful ideas for the coming program. She has thought a theme for the exhibit. So unexpectedly she came in the meeting room and shares her ideas to them. Sara was a member of the Science Club so she just react and said; “Why should we listen to her? She is not even a member of the club even at the council. This is just a meeting between us, Claire. You don’t belong here so get lost!” Then Toby said to her; “Sara, do you have any ideas to share? Yeah, you’re a member of the Science Club but do you have any ideas for the program?” Sara can’t answer. Then Satoshi said; “We can accept an idea from the other people so it’s ok if Claire is going to share.” So Claire starts on explaining. While Toby was listening, Satoshi notice something but he ignores it.
Dismissal time, Claire was already going home but Toby was chasing her, he wants to join Claire to walk home. Claire stop then suddenly said to Toby; “Toby, why are you chasing me? Wait, oh you’re going to walk with me?” Then Toby smiles at her and it means yes. They are walking together then Toby said to Claire; “Ah…. Thanks. Thanks for helping us at the meeting. I was out of ideas and…” “And what? Hey look its Satoshi.” Claire was wondering why Satoshi suddenly went down at his service. Satoshi pulled the two at the car and they went at park. Toby and Claire was wondering why. When they got there, they saw Jana. Claire and Toby remember the same car from the incident. Then Satoshi said to them; “The both of you must be more careful. Claire, you didn’t told me that Jana was hurting you all the time.” “Well I don’t want you to worry.” “Toby, is that the reason why are you keep on joining her every time?” “Yes.” Claire took something at her pocket then her handkerchief fell. Satoshi immediately took it and then he saw the blood. “What is this? This is blood isn’t it?” Toby was shock from what he just saw. “What? Is that a blood Claire?” asked Toby. Then Claire said; “Yeah that blood, I saw a kid who had a nosebleed so I used my handkerchief. Is there something wrong with it?” “Are you sure that this is not your blood?” asked Satoshi. Claire said yes but Toby still believe that that blood was Claire’s blood.
