Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)

Plot: Kousei Arima was a renowned child pianist. But after the death of his mother, he can no longer play. However, he is dragged back onto the stage when he meets a violinist named Kaori, who puts her heart and soul into her music -- and who just happens to be in love with Kousei's best friend. (B+)

Objectionable Content: blood, profanity

Other: A heavily psychological and bittersweet love story. My biggest issue with this series was its sense of humor. (Its idea of comedy was Kousei taking a baseball to the head and bleeding all over the floor in episode 1. I didn't find that funny, especially after seeing his backstory.)

I have never read the manga that this anime is based on.
