Medabots

Plot: Small AI robots called Medabots are all the rage, especially among kids. Ikki Tenryou is desperate to have one (though he can't afford it), and when he finds a discarded medal (essentially the Medabot's "soul"), he rushes to his local store and buys a cheap, outdated model named Metabee. There's just one problem -- this particular Medabot has a serious attitude problem! How will Ikki ever be able to control it well enough to get to the World Robattle tournament? (Another tournament anime with some interesting plot twists --C+)

Characters: Substance and variety -- A-

Art & Animation: C+

Voice Acting: C

Music: B-

Objectionable Content: Mild

Other: Starts out pretty light-hearted and has some really off-base gags and villains. Later on, more serious elements come into play. The second season switches out some of the voice actors, which I really disliked. There was also some really weird stuff going on, even though it had one or two good plot points.

I read a little bit of the comic, but the art was really bad, and it was hard to follow.

Overall Score: C+

Recommendation: 2.5/5
