Lightly, their footsteps treaded along the dark trail, their thoughts silent. Nia found herself constantly looking at the back of Yoru's head, lost in thought. Then, she'd come to her senses and look away. Yoru was walking ahead of her, head down, lost in thought as he watched pebbles and stones pass by.
Again, Nia found herself watching him walk, memorizing everything about him. How he moved in every step, how his long black ponytail waved lightly, the way his shoulders moved up and down under his cloak. She could still feel his lips on hers, lost in thought, "The way he walks and talks... even his scent. It's all so magical... I wonder how strong of a Wizard he's become? The extent of his Powers?" She shivered slightly.
Yoru spun around, sensing something wrong, "Are you cold?" Nia was about to protest, but he slipped off his cloak and laid it across her shoulders, "You need to keep warm. Here, lemme carry those for you," and he took the basket of herbs from her. Her hand skimmed his bare arm and she recoiled lightly.
"His skin..." she thought, "It's so cold..." Nia looked up, meeting his eyes, "Oh, God! There it is again! Whenever I see his red eyes, I start to get butterflies!"
"Is something wrong?" he asked.
"Ah-! Um... no!" she continued to walk, more briskly then, "Actually," she stopped and swerved back to him. He looked at her curiously as she bit her lip, "Yoru-kun... I... I think I'm in lov-"
Yoru suddenly cut Nia off, holding up a hand to silence her and putting a finger to his lips. He was intent on listening to something else, "I thought I just heard..."
Then, Nia heard it too. From far off, they could hear a voice. It sounded strained and scared, calling for help.
"Oh, no, Yoru-kun! I think that's Inari-chan!" Nia said, fear in her teal eyes. Yoru cursed and took off, "The hot springs!"
