Only one thought was able to cross Inari's mind, "No way, that cat is your teacher, Yoru-san?!"
"Y-yeah..." Yoru said quietly, shakily. The calico hopped from the wall and stepped towards the dark-haired Wizard. She stopped a few feet away and glared keenly at Yoru, "Is? WAS! I WAS his teacher! What are you doing back here, Yoru?!"
"I have some questions is all-" he began. The cat cut him off, spitting, "PAH! After seven years, you come crawling back just like I knew you would! The answer is the same now as it was then," she hissed, "You're a hopeless idiot and you are no student of mine any longer! Now, take your leave."
"No."
The spring air was warm, but Inari felt shivers run down his spine as Yoru and his teacher, the cat, glared at each other. For a moment that felt like forever, they just stared. Yoru's 'no' still hung in the air like a dark cloud. The cat's tail twitched slightly, her voice low and sharp, "What?"
"I..." his red eyes darted to Inari for a split second, "I'm not running anywhere! I won't run away."
Inari and Ringo both looked between the Wizard and his former teacher. The cat stared at him, sizing him up, her ears twitched and she sighed, "My... you've grown up. Standing up to me, Yoru? You've most certainly changed," she flashed a fang-toothed grin, "Okay. You three can come in for tea, I s'pose."
As the cat led the way inside the cottage, Inari noticed Yoru sigh in relief, his shoulders sagging. He caught his eye and the Wizard grinned at him, chuckling under his breath. The boy couldn't help but wonder, "She's his teacher? She's so shrill! What'd he do to her?!"
