Skies of Arcadia was my first RPG and still stands as my favorite video game. The age of discovery in a world of continents floating in the sky where you play as a sky pirate in a flying wooden sailing ship... It's just awesome, even though the plot is an RPG cliche storm and the battle system gets broken late in the game, but the concept never gets old and it was an RPG that dared to be lighthearted in the days when true RPGs were angsty.
Oh, and there was no annoying love triangle subplot.
