I made this wallpaper based on ‘Forgiven’, a Within Temptation’s song.

I thought the lyrics were really suitable for the concept I wanted to show.

Vector

I made Sakura’s vector in Illustrator from this screenshothttp://www.magitek-designs.net/gallery/gallery.php?album=119&image=23. Then I painted in Photoshop (as usual :3). At the beginning I wanted to make a simple vector but I guess I can’t help making vectors/wallpapers with lots of details…I just love details! (you’ll see that both Sakura’s ribbon and dress were painted with tiny circles done with a soft brush).

Wings

I didn’t like the wings from the original scan so I drew it myself using this image as a reference http://www.kawapaper.com/d/9500-2/Kawapaper_HRenmei_0000020_1280x1024.jpg and also following the steps of this great angel wing tutorial http://rach-resources.deviantart.com/art/Angel-Wing-Part-II-108671569. I didn’t paint Sakura’s wings white simply because in most cases angel wings are that colour and I wanted to use dark tones this time.

Plus a third layer with a starry sky I made in Photoshop.

I would have loved to add some ‘Forgiven’ lyrics in the background but I tried and it looked overloaded!
