Why Not Try

For those of you who want to try something a little bit different, why not try this art style for a change of pace?

Stained Glass!

What you will need:

  • Crepe paper or acetate
  • Heavy card
  • Black Sharpie marker or black pen
  • Glue (PVA is fine)

Plot out and cut your card into a frame in any shape you like. This could be your standard rectangle, or square, or even a heart, or star!

Choose as many crepe paper colours as you like to create your piece. Then, stick them all overlapping each other and affix to your card frame. To strengthen it, you can add a layer of glue over it all.

TIP: This can also be done with acetate and glass paints. You can also use coloured Sharpies to add your colour.

Why not try making random colours first to get the feel of it, then maybe advance to creating stained glass effect images of your favourite characters?

Create your frame and add in your crepe/acetate in the shape of your chosen subject. Use markers to outline and add in the 'lead strips' to make it look even more authentic!

Don't forget to hang it in your window to see the full effect.

Have fun and shoot us a link your works in the comments below! (Please only link to TheO portfolio pieces, as we cannot feature offsite images.)
