The 10 Minute Buddha 2 Trailer
In 2011, Osamu Tezuka’s manga epic Buddha was adapted into a film, which many called a "masterpiece." This week, the first trailer for the second film of a trilogy was released.
Guilty Crown Dub Cast Announced
FUNimation released their second string of dub casts with 2011’s Guilty Crown. Directed by Tetsuo Araki (Death Note, Attack on Titan) and with music provided by Supercell, the cast highlights newcomers Austin Tindle, Micah Solusod and Alexis Tipton. Expect an August 27 release.
The Future Diary Dub Casts Announced
FUNimation also announced the cast of The Future Diary. The anime, directed by Naoto Hosoda (Shuffle!), stars Josh Grelle, Brina Palencia and Kent Williams. The release date for Part One is August 13.
First Silver Spoon Trailer Posted
The official YouTube channel for the Noitamina programming block released the first trailer for the anime adaptation of Silver Spoon, created by Hiromu Arakawa (Full Metal Alchemist). In the trailer, they highlight the block’s eight years of syndication.
FUNimation, Sentai Filmworks Have Exciting News
At Sunrise’s Anime Boston panel, producer Masayuki Ozaki revealed that production studios FUNimation and Sentai Filmworks are in talks to license titles that were owned by now defunct BANDAI Entertainment. This includes Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass: Ghost in the Shell, Lucky Star, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Link
Bomb Scare At Detective Conan Event
Police in Takamatsu prefecture were called to a shopping mall when a suspicious object with electrical leads was found. When the object was deemed harmless, organizers for a Detective Conan event stated it was their property. The “bomb” was to be used in a real life game in which players had to escape before a time limit. Link
Another Arrest in Filesharing Operation
A 43 year-old man from Shimane Prefecture was arrested on illegal distribution of Yokusaru Shibata’s manga 81diver. The man admitted to the charges and is only one of roughly one dozen fileshare arrests in 2013. Link
