Nothing wrong with a little "fanservice" from time to time .3.
Actually I have known about this anime and seen this premiere about 3 weeks ago and I can say you are ABSOLUTELY right about the stupid name....they could have been a bit more clever xD Actually thats late news but yeah!
I did try looking it up and I had to put in Free! Swimming Anime and then it finally came up...kinda sucks but whatever....the animation is beautiful though!

Thinking about it, "Free!" is a pretty awful title for an anime.
Imagine trying to look up info on it...
Google "Free!" and you get nothing.
Google "Free! anime" and watch all the shady sites pop up.
You'd probably only be fine with something like "Free! KyoAni." Hahaha. Heck, you could probably get more results with "Swimming Anime."

Oh, well that's an interesting bit of information! Good for them for taking a new direction. Not too sure how I personally feel about the blatant abundance of fanservice, but I guess it's good for, well, the fans.

Well, KyoAni is known for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, K-ON!, Lucky Star, and Tamako Market. All have primarily female casts. This is one of the rare times they're taking on the male gender for an entire series.
The manservice does help quite a bit to reel in the fangirls, though.
I've been hearing a lot of hype about Free! lately. Is that just because it's got a lot of shirtless guys in it, or am I missing something? I'm slightly confused.
