i enjoyed the movie immensely, and the dramatic relationships between each character were very natural, to which i greatly appreciate. adding on to your point about Hana's characterization, i fully agree that she is overly idealized, and i find myself wanting her to die at one point.. o_o
i also thought that the ending was not as satisfying or complete as it could've been... the montage helped the transition of wolf children to wolf teens, but to abruptly have their paths set and cut scene doesn't give the story a proper closure... too many loose ends. what became of souhei and yuki? of souhei and his mother? what of ame's inner turmoil in leaving home - and his mom - in stern finality? there's so much more that the movie can develop but neglected to do so, and i find that disappointing.
i still bawled my eyes out though. :p
3.5/5 for the plot
4.5/5 for the animation~ ^.^
