The site is telling me the image isn't valid, i've tried both JPG and PNG and the image itself is not too big either
...something fishy about it.

Otaku Legend | Posted 07/06/12 | Reply
you know. for me the whole "resolution" thng was never an issue. because for me; all images are a large pixely mess. so when you said we can now use PNG's i though *ok. this has nothing to do with me* but now i a angry. like so many others, I can't upload anything! I ven tried changing my avatar, but it just gives me an error message saying (this is not a valad image) like hell, it's not! i even tried changing it to MSpaint's JPG file, and it still didn't work! I am very frustraited becuase it always takes up to 10 minutes to submit something with my internet...try doing that 7 diffetent time just to find out none of them worked!
sorry for the rant, but I am just a bit frustrated.
is there anyway to fix this?

Fan Art not letting me submit art. I've tried countless times, reviewed the requirements, made sure that it fit all of them, and it still tells me that im not uploading a valid image. whether its PNG or JPG! Fix please?!

I hope this feature will trickle down to ecards etc. as well!!
Otaku Eternal | Posted 07/02/12 | Reply
mine does that too, i end up having to save in a lower resolution or i get in a mood and not post.
Today, I was trying to upload a fan art piece of mine on this website, but despite the work being saved in JPEG format and meeting standards of bytes and dimensions as it's below 1 MB and between min. and max. of file size dimensions, the submission process kept rejecting my attempt to upload, brining up the message "The file you uploaded is not a valid image".

Finally!! I always save my work in PNG and upload it as is for other sites, but because theO only supported JPEG I had to add an extra step.

UNF UNF UNF FOR THIS NEW FEATURE!!! PRAISE THE LOUWWWDDDD!
I don't submit that much fan art so I look forward for the PNG feature in wallpapers, cards, etc so I don't have to change formats. I'm loving the 2012 updates so far. Keep it up!
Ditto, that's exactly what was bugging me! 8/ lol

Yay! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ I was getting annoyed having to save a png and a jpeg for all of my pictures :I
Goggalor (Otaku Eternal) | Posted 06/29/12 | Reply
I don't think PNG support is anything new for fanart. I've been submitting transparent PNGs for quite a while. The only issue I noticed with them was that their thumbnail would put black in for the background, or if the image needed to be clicked to be viewed at proper resolution, which I'm seeing is still an issue.
Question, with the upgrade to a larger file size, will the dimension sizes change in any way?

Sweet! This is a great! You said that a file image can only be 2 MB max. Does this change the height and length maximums as well or will those stay the same? Or is there no maximum except in file size?

*3* Oooh! YESS~! FINALLY! Wouldn't that make deviantart and theotaku on the same level of quality?
I always felt so embarrassed when I had to lower the quality on my pics for this site...;m; I didn't want people to see the ugly pixelation~! Great change~! Great change.
finally we can see some pretty high quality images * o *! <3
YAY!!! Finally!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

This is fantastic news.
I'm still noticing that the display image (before you click the high resolution link) is still rather pixelated (mostly around areas with color change. This issue has also been ongoing with the card section, too.). Was this meant to improve in quality as well, or was this change only meant for the larger version of the pieces?
