Hmm...others do make a good point. If this is really a celebrity chat with Johnny Yong Bosch, is it really a "shock" announcement after having two recent chats already? That kinda reduces the "shock" value. Then again, I do like Sangome's point about this whole riddle thing being a good strategy to invite more people into a possible JYB celebrity chat after the less-than-expected showing in the last celebrity chat.

However, I can't help but be bothered by clue # 2, which used the word "blackest" instead of "black". If we believe that the clue for #2 is indeed referring to the Black Ranger, then how is it really related to the word "blackest"? Does the superlative form of this adjective have any actual impact on the answer to this?

Then again, my research did show that Adam Park (JYB) did appear as the Black Ninja Ranger, which might be the Black Ranger with the blackest costume in the franchise.

And then, there's that butterfly theory which somehow solidifies the JYB theory.

But if we really want to think outside the box, how about this? What if Johnny Yong Bosch will indeed be in the site, but it won't be a celebrity chat? What if he's gonna do a podcast for the site, or at least a one-time-only guest podcast? Or what if he's gonna do a live streaming video chat in theOtaku, which would also help lead the way to Adam unveiling a new feature in the site that would involve streaming videos that are hosted in theOtaku? And what if this feature is actually Project Black?

Not sure who this JYB person is, but a Celeb chat is hardly a shock announcement... So I doubt it will be celeb chat related. Perhaps the new feature?

You know what, I just thought of another thing that lends credence to this being a potential celebrity chat [whether with JYB or somebody else].

One of the problems Adam outlined for the last chat was the low attendance. The members cited that a very short time frame between the announcement and the day Ms Clinkenbeard came as one of the factors. Indeed, some of them didn't even know about it until the day of the chat.

Given that many members have poured a lot of time into figuring out these riddles, they're going to want to stick around and find out just what the answer is. And by doing that, Adam's pretty much cemented a good chunk of people knowing that this is going to happen, which potentially translates into people showing up, increasing the odds of a good turnout.

I gotta say, if this ends up being true...then that's some pretty good business sense.

(1) he went to the Butterfly Museum a few years ago (link)
(2) he did a Paradise Kiss episode entitled "Butterflies"(link)
(3) he apparently knows how to do the "Butterfly Twist" (link)

I'm not sure how significant those information are with regards to the shock announcement. But I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'm really grasping at straws here, but the first thing I thought of was that, in Persona 4, a butterfly-ish-sort-of-thing acts as a save point. The main character is voiced by the Bosch [kind of, anyway; he's mainly a silent protagonist, but he does speak a few words], and he also voices the character of Tohru Adachi, who turns out to be the antagonist.

Again, that's reeeeeeally grasping at straws, so I highly doubt it's related, but it's a thought.

Otherwise, I do remember the post(s) from the other day, which made me a little hesitant to completely go with the theory, but you gotta admit it adds up...

I don't know if the guess is right or not but like anyone else he was just frustrated and most certainly not trolling people with his post. The first one was poorly worded but he corrected it since people got the wrong idea.

Anyway, what most people don't realize is if something doesn't work out to Adam's expectations, he just looks for better ways to do it. So yes he considered stopping them, but only till he worked out a better way to run them.

It's a pity he's not on AIM for me to talk to. As it is I have to wait till the announcement like everyone else to find out if the guess is right or not. I certainly hope it is. That would be amazing.

Though the Johnny Yong Bosch theory appears quite logical, the one thing that bugs me is that this was supposed to be (at least, in my understanding) related to Project Black. Then again, Project Black is supposed to be announced on Friday, from what I've heard, whereas the shock announcement will take place tomorrow (Wednesday, US time).

And I can't help but reflect on moonlit dream's comment about the Butterfly Hunter challenge ending tomorrow as well? Could that be a clue or a coincidence? Maybe the shock announcement will feature the winning fanart of that challenge.

And in relation to that, does the shock announcement have something to do with "hunting butterflies"? Does Johnny Yong Bosch have some sort of relation to butterflies? Things are starting to get interesting.

So the connecting letters are A, D, and T. So it's a word that uses those three letters. But then I could be reading way too much into the whole crossword puzzle thing.
