I will admit that I am up to date with Persona 4, but episode 7 was creepy. oh... keep up the good work Timechaser. Your making me and several fans proud.
When we do this show, we stick to talking about things related to theO. If you'd like to hear us talking about particular anime, you should go check out the full AP show. And I think Ichigo did a review of Persona 4 in a recent episode.
Here in Britain Hallow'een and Bonfire Night(5th November) are the last brakes that hold back the shops from going into to full Christmas mode. However, Christmas stuff starts to appear in the shops in September; basically when the summer stuff and Back to School promotions (which usually start two weeks before the end of term) go out then the christimas goods come in. As we had a very warm October this year, hotter than August, there was the incongruous sights of people wandering around back in, or still in, summer clothes, while the shops were full of wintery christmas decorations.

Also, I dunno where some people are seeing Christmas stuff out during September. The only thing I have seen or heard anything even remotely Christmas-like is a grocery store advert but that was for the holidays overall (Thanksgiving and Christmas) a couple days ago. Maybe some areas or stores prepare earlier than others...

As far as fantasy goes - sounds like you'd dig Ursala LeGuin!! A Wizard of Earthsea (the whole Earthsea series actually) is epic - dark and clever. The books are quick reads, but not in that horrible Dan Brown way. (Yes, I've suggested reading this before, and I'll continue to do so every time someone mentions fantasy novels!)
That whole Gaga thing was um... interesting. I would be more disturbed, but the memory of her meat dress still haunts my dreams.
I remember that Korea also has a Thanksgiving holiday to honor ancestors and they have a big feast. It's sometime in November, if I recall correctly; maybe it was last week.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Lodoss Wars; that's a good one too. I've heard a lot about the Discworld series and how crazy it is, but haven't ever read it yet.
