Walkthrough: Trauma Center kaisap112

Chapter 3: Onset

Episode 1: Temptation

Right in the beginning you’re introduced to Reina Mayuzumi, the President of Acropolis Pharmaceutical. You even get a full-figure picture of her and she looks nothing like the average 35-year-old woman! *hides from the army of angry 35-year-old women*

*cough cough* So moving on. Caduceus has signed a business alliance with Acropolis, so now you’ll have to help them with their new invention, a vaccine that affects DNA. The minute you get out of the office, Mayuzumi starts flirting with Derek and tries to get him to join Acropolis. (“I want you…” What a dirty woman! O.o’) Angie walks in to save the day and we’ll get to one of the most horrible operations so far.

The Operation

Condition: Data must be collected twice through puzzle manipulation for vaccine research.

To put it simply, I agree with Derek. Oh no! I didn’t like the puzzles back in the first Trauma Center and I don’t like this one any more than those devils. The clock will measure how long it takes for you to solve two puzzles.

Both have the same structure: little disks with dots. The idea is to set and rotate the disks below so that they fit into the formation. You have to make ALL the dots connect, as in have a red dot against another red dot and so on. This is really tricky and the other characters will start making some very annoying comments if it takes too long. So let’s start.

[Insert crappy ASCII here]

This is the first one that’s always supposed to be so easy but never is. Now, select the forceps. You can rotate the disks as the game guides you to do. The first time I played this operation I lost my nerves a few times and I still don’t like this operation. Luckily, this is the last time you’ll have to do any puzzles (thank you Atlus!).

(This section will be finished later.)

When you’re through with the puzzles, Mayuzumi does some evil thinking (or at least it sounds like it).

Derek will still be flattered over the offer of joining Acropolis. Let’s add that Mayuzumi is trying to ask Derek out for dinner and chaos is ready to unfold. Angie comes in and gets all mad at Derek for acting like a fool around Mayuzumi. I think we’ve figured out who Angie’s into…but I’m sure we’ll get to that later. On with the story!

Chapter 2: Prime Time

Derek’s gonna be on TV! Well, it looks like some people aren’t happy. The TV-people have supplied the patient, so now Derek just has to do his job in front of the cameras. Hair? Check! Patient? Check! Scalpel? Check! Let’s start the show!

The Operation

Patient: Kevin Ingram
Height: 173 cm
Weight: 68 kg

Condition: Tumors in the small intestine. Excision of tumors and calming of inflammations are necessary. Note: The operation will be televised.

Objectives:
-Excise and extract the tumors in the small intestine
-Treat the inflammations

Time Limit: 5 minutes
Starting Vitals:

Let’s get the showing rolling! Wait what? The camera crew’s causing distraction? Well, never mind that!

Open the patient.

All right, inflammations. Nothing new there. Derek has to pose for the camera for a bit and then we’ll continue.

Now, you’re job is simple: remove the tumors and treat the inflammations. There will be smaller tumors, so laser them off as well. Sounds too simple? Well, thanks to the TV-group, there will be some distracting noise and a flash of light (screen goes white for a bit) every once in a while. You’d better not be lasering, injecting or cutting when the flash comes!

Once you’ve treated the tumors and inflammations, close up. Then you can rub your eyes for a bit after all those flashes.

Episode 3: For the Future

Victor’s done with the medication for PGS. The problem is that it has to be custom made for every patient. Oh well, Acropolis can handle that now! Speaking of Acropolis, there comes the slut- *cough cough* President of Acropolis, Ms. Mayuzumi. She’s all over Derek again. This time she wants to hook Derek up to some machine and record his every move during an operation. She claims it’ll be used for good purposes only and Derek won’t mind that. But guess what, Angie minds, a lot. We’ll start the operation anyway.

The Operation

Patient: Keith Yaeger
Height: 166 cm
Weight: 77 kg

Condition: Aneurysms in the large intestine which may require the use of synthetic blood vessels. Aneurysms must be excised and blood vessels sutured.

Objective:
-Excise the aneurysms and suture the blood vessels, or, replace them with synthetic blood vessels

Time Limit: 5 minutes
Starting Vitals: 80

Now that I think about it, why is it that Angie has to be telling Derek all the time what he should do? Didn’t Derek go to med school and become a surgeon? Oh well.

Aneurysms are no fun. But there’s a trick to those too! Open the patient now.

There’s only one aneurysm? Geez, let’s get it over with. Inject the brown medication into the aneurysm, scalpel it, pick it out with forceps and drain the blood. Then pull the ends of the vessels together (pick one end with the forceps and pull it over the other end) and suture over the vessel. Job done!

Yeah, you wish. A huge aneurysm shows up. You’ll have to get it out the same way as the small one (brown stuff, cut, pick out, drain if necessary) but then we get to the new stuff. Pick the synthetic blood vessel up with the forceps and place it to the junction of the three blood vessels. Then suture all the ends so that you get three Ok:s.

Now you’ll have more aneurysms to treat, so here’s what you should do to make sure as few as possible rupture: once you get to the point where you should pick the aneurysm out, LEAVE IT THERE. It won’t run off and you’ll have more time to treat the other ones. Trust me, it’s easier to pick out and suture loads of stuff when nothing’s about to burst. Use the magnification tool to move around the area. Once you’re done with the three aneurysms (one big, two small) more will appear. Keep doing what you’ve been doing so far. Panic won’t help with aneurysms.

After those ones, you guessed it, even more! I suggest you use the Healing Touch right about now. Okay, Derek’s on it already. So just keep going, inject, cut, pick out, drain, do something with forceps (pick out aneurysms, pull ends together and place synthetic vessels) and suture. After you’re done, close up.

Derek turns Ms. Mayuzumi’s offer down. Thank God! *audience applauses* But once Derek leaves, Mayuzumi starts thinking those evil villain thoughts. We’ll probably hear more of that later.

Episode 4: Elysium

Another dialogue episode! *wipes sweat off forehead*

Derek and Angie are bringing Emilio his medication and helping out setting up the treatment plan. Isn’t that nice! Angie shows more signs of jealousy (just tell him already, girl!) and a doctor of Elysium appears. He’s kicking some slimy guy out who plays dumb when approached. Red eyes always mean trouble, so let’s keep this fellow in mind for later. Angie notes that they had bumped into the guy earlier and he didn’t seem that lost then. It is also revealed that Angie’s father, Professor Blackwell, is co-operating with Caduceus in order to atone for his sins of having helped Delphi with GUILT research under pressure. But we’ll get back to him later.

Episode 5: Familiar Faces

OH MY GOD! It’s Cybil! One of my favorite characters! The “Iron Vixen” has married Greg Kasal, Sidney’s brother. They have a baby now as well, a girl named Kari! How cute!

But there’s an emergency. The Kasals head off to the E.R. to help out and Hoffman is left to take care of Kari. Kari doesn’t seem to be okay with this, but we have patients to take care of!

The Operation

Patient: Sarah Newman
Height: 158 cm
Weight: 52 kg

Condition: Lacerations on right lung. Suturing of lacerations and extraction of glass shards are necessary.

Objectives:
-Treat the lacerations on the right lung
-Extract the glass shards

Time Limit: 5 minutes
Starting Vitals:

All right, this is a great example of what happens when you don’t wear a seatbelt. Let’s operate.

First, suture the wounds and take out the glass shards, then apply the antibiotic gel. Once you’re done with those, we can open the patient.

Oh man, internal hemorrhaging. You can treat those by spreading the gel on the little puff of smoke. But we’ll have to treat the wounds (one glass shard, one big cut and one big laceration). Once you’re done, check the other areas. Above and below are some more smoke and lacerations as well as glass shards. Treat those and then use the ultrasound to locate all the hemorrhaging spots a.k.a. the shadows. Cut open, drain, suture. Nothing too complicated, right? After you’ve treated all the shadows, close up.

Wow, didn’t feel like it was a big emergency after all. Now Cybil can go save her baby from Director Hoffman, Tyler can give hints to Angie and Derek’s true feelings and we can move on. Well, after Angie does some bashing, but isn’t she always doing that?

Episode 6: GUILT Returns

Uh-oh, the title sounds really bad.

And it is. Elysium’s had an outbreak of GUILT! What about it? Well, Emilio’s there!!! So let’s get moving, chop chop!

Wow, it looks like GUILT can change the color of the sky as well! It’s a really evil purple now. Adel is left with Tyler and Derek and Angie head in with a few other people.

And the worst case scenario: Heather and Emilio have been infected! We’ve got to save them!

The Operation

Patients: Yayoi Akasaka, unknown, Heather Ross and Emilio Juarez

Condition: They all have Kyriaki

Objective:
-Eliminate Kyriaki

Time Limit: 10 minutes

We’ve got four patients in a row this time and only ten minutes to work our magic. Let’s begin.

But first, here’s a little about Kyriaki: it’s a form of GUILT, the first ever to be treated in the first Trauma Center. They’re annoying little devils that cause lacerations and need to be burned with lasers after cutting them out with the help of the ultrasound and a scalpel. Didn’t get that? You will, or your patients will die, got that?

So let’s open up. Start by suturing the lacerations. As you progress, more will show up, so use the ultrasound at the spot where the lacerations end to find a baby Kyriaki. Next, cut it out with the scalpel (it’ll make a laceration the second it comes out so don’t be surprised) and burn it with the laser. It’s a fast GUILT, but the little ones only need two taps of the laser before dying. So kill off the little ones to make way for the queen. You’ll know when she’s here, since she makes a big, formation of 4 huge lacerations when she arrives.

Find the queen and cut her out. Then use the laser. The queen has to be taken out and lasered multiple times, but you’ll get her eventually. But you still need to keep up a good pace, there’re three patients after this one!

Close up and then we’ll move on to the unknown male employee. Open up as usual.

Treat the lacerations and get rid of the baby Kyriaki. Then a surprise: once you find the queen with the ultrasound, you’ll notice that she has a new look. Something’s not right here. But Angie wants to go with the old techniques, so try to kill the queen for a few times and kill the appearing Kyriaki until Angiel finally gets it: the reaction is different from the larger Kyriaki and we can use our new game plan.

Okay, this is TC2, so of course this little devil has evolved a little. Instead of going straight for the queen, tap around with the ultrasound until you find a little dot that looks a bit like a seashell. That’s a pupa. You need to remove it by cutting it out and using the forceps before you do anything else. If you leave the pupa as it is, it’ll make more Kyriaki and we don’t want that, now do we?

After you’re done with the pulpa (or pulpas, sometimes there’s more than one), kill off the queen just as the queen before. Treat the wounds, close up and we’ll get to Heather.

Open her up and treat the lacerations. Kill the Kyriaki babies, then take out the pupas and finish off the queen. This isn’t anything new, so just do your job and close up. You won’t actually be treating Emilio after all.

Once Heather’s out of the way, Emilio crashes. Derek tries to get his pulse back with the defibrillator but…

Emilio can’t be saved. Not even with the Healing Touch.

Derek collapses as we reach the end of the episode.

Episode 7: Overconfidence (DE)

Heather is throwing stuff at the walls when she finds out that Emilio is gone. She’s obviously asking why Derek didn’t operate on Emilio first. Derek is of course very depressed because of the event that took place. Everyone tries to comfort him and tell him that he made the right choice. But Angie decides it’s time to tell Derek what an idiot he was for believing that the Healing Touch would make everything all right. After making it clear that Derek is a negligent moron for letting all the fame affect his work, she runs off. Derek wonders when exactly he became like that.

Victor and Sidney are talking about the outbreak and it seems like it was a terrorist attack. Also, Victor adds that the new GUILT found inside Emilio couldn’t have been a natural mutation, in other words, someone’s tampering with GUILT again. But who would do something like that?
