"Dylan it's very sweet for you to come with me on such short notice." Marge held his arm as they walked into her school's gym, all decked out for the prom.

"I'm surprised they even let me in." Dylan looked around nervously at a lot of unfamiliar faces that looked back at him with equal suspicion.

"Mom has a lot of pull in the teachers union, she got you special permission to come tonight." Marge tapped the ID tag Dylan had clipped to his tuxedo's coat pocket. "She's been trying to get the schools to let your kind in as students, but that may be years away."

"I commend her efforts." Dylan waved at a boy who'd waved at him from across the gym. "Seems like the students aren't the ones who have a problem with me." His eyes fell on a teacher giving him a sour look. "Adults can be so silly sometimes."

"You said it Dylan." Marge noticed the teacher eying Dylan. "I'll go get us some punch. Wait here."

"Sure thing." Dylan looked around at the decor, black blue and silver were everywhere, the prom's theme was "Night Under the Stars" so they'd tacked the whole gym ceiling with the plastic glow-in-the-dark stars and planets that people put in their bedrooms.

"You're here with Marge aren't you?" A boy's voice made Dylan jump. "I just saw her on your arm, so I figured you're her date."

"I am." Dylan turned to see a light haired boy with bright blue eyes grinning from ear to ear.

"Whether she knows it or not, Marge actually outdid Tiffany." The boy laughed, indicating a bleach blond girl standing in a group of people. "She's the only girl who brought one of you."

"Since I don't know you, I'll assume you didn't mean that." Dylan looked a little annoyed. "My name is Dylan." He offered his hand to the boy.

"George." The boy took the hand. "You've got a grip there." After giving the lizard boy's hand a shake he wrung his hand a little to get the pain out. "I'm in Marge's psychology class."

"I'm her friend Karen's neighbor." Dylan offered.

"You're Marge's boyfriend too from what I hear." George looked around.

"I guess you could say that." Dylan shrugged.

"She's lucky to have a guy like you." George watched as Marge came back with two cups of punch.

"George, you've met Dylan I guess." Marge handed Dylan one cup of punch.

"Yeah, he's a cool guy, why you been hiding him from us?" George asked. "You get a Reptilian for a boyfriend and don't even bring him around till the prom."

"We were busy, and Dylan doesn't go to school here George." Marge said with a shrug.

"I've got to find Vinnie, he has to see this." George hurried off.

"That kid is a little strange isn't he?" Dylan asked.

"Yeah, he's a little weird, but harmless." Marge listened as a song started to play. "Can you dance any Dylan?"

"I can." Dylan replied. "Shall we?" He held out his arm and escorted Marge onto the dance floor.

Later

"It's a beautiful night out isn't it Dylan?" Marge asked as the two sat on the school's roof looking up at the star filled sky overhead.

"Yeah, and it's much quieter up here too." Dylan rubbed the side of his head.

"You did really good in there tonight, I'm proud of you." Marge leaned onto Dylan. "You told me you don't like loud noises, but you stayed in there with all that noise and commotion for me. That was very gentlemanly of you."

"You had a good time then?" Dylan put his arm around Marge's shoulder.

"The best." Marge stated with a smile. "There's a shooting star, make a wish."

"You take it, I have all I need." Dylan declined.

"Okay." Marge closed her eyes a moment. When she opened her eyes again, she leaned up and gave him a quick little peck on the cheek. "Thanks."

"For what?" Dylan asked.

"For being here with me now, for sharing this wonderful time with me." Marge explained. "It's getting cold out, I should get you home." She spoke as a cool wind blew. "Come on, we can gaze at the stars in your backyard." She prodded Dylan eventually getting him up. "Let's go." She led the way off the roof, toward the parking lot where she'd parked her car.
